everyone cancel hotels if you can, im sure it will be fine if you give this much notice in advance.

lets get a blonde villa, or a few next to each other, huge parties at the villa, sunbathing, pools, drinks, banter etc.

Would be so good to get like 20 of us in lots of villas, you can use the hotel stuff anyway in Marbella, I stayed there a few months ago.

Blondes on tour would be so good.

The hotel is about 10-15 mins walk from nightlife which is really good too.

I was thinking this actually. Seems a bit low budget and can't do the brand any good at all.

Should be $5k minimum really.

The sentiment is still the same though, a 150 runner €5k tournament in Venice is a bit of a joke

WPT Nationals are designed to cater for local markets, and players that are not rolled for the larger fully branded WPT events. Saying it de-values the brand is like saying a UKIPT (or any of the GPT National series) de-values the EPT!

In the USA they are branded as "Regional" events, and carry buy ins even lower than the European Nationals.

Well it devalued it for me until it was explained.

UKIPT has a totally different name to EPT so the difference is easier to spot.

It clashes with the EPT Berlin and the Grand Final, so a $5k buy in would probably be a mistake regardless of the title

Presumably the tournament is on their doorstep!

I've asked Barry to send the list of blonde players to Mr Perry, so he can keep an eye on our guys

Course Correspondent Jakally reports

"Mitch made day 2 with 75k but Titbean, Pleno, Mondeo, Fenix and PLinton all run out of chips.

Julian, Dan Morgan, Alex and Stato playing tomorrow with maybe one or two others having a second bullet.

Casino is pretty decent, and tourney is run ok in terms of dealing standard etc...."

All I can find elsewhere is on PS

"Play has ended for the day with the conclusion of the 300/600/75 level.

There are 69 players remaining from the Day 1a field of 166.

For Day 1b we expect a much larger field including re-entries"

First break counts, from 20k starting

Me 22k
Pleno (on my direct right!) 26k
Stato 17k
Keith 35k
PLintanon 26k

Fun tournament, really enjoy the structure, 20k starting at 50/100 is perfect.

200 entries in soft far for 1b, about 500/600k € prize pool I guess.

Ridic tough field......

That or just full of utter heroes who love the game.

Turns out Spanish law means that you have to leave your fold button at reception. The most ridic toruny ever to be card dead in.

Funny hh from my day1a table...

Stars.it online pro sits down and isin bb for his first hand

Utg opens
Mp1 peels
Mp2 peels
Mp3 peels
Btn squeezes
Bb pro snap calls
Utg calls
Mp1 folds
Mp2 resqueezes
Mp3 folds
Btn tank folds
Bb pro snap calls ~4k from 20 starting stack
Utg tank folds

HU to A52dd

Check check turn 6d Bb pro snap leads gets a tank sigh fold and shows one

............

That set the tone.....

60 left, and looks like they are playing 1 more level today.

Tall anon hitting sets for fun, and smiling for about the first time this week.

LINTON's MADE FINAL TABLE!

He's 2/8 with 12k locked up, and 150k ftw.

There's going to be one hell of a rail tomorrow, about 15 of us going to be there getting smashed cheering in the PLINTON!

Linton=Villano el river!

Flop:   6d  Js  3d

Well that's just not true at all. He isn't aloud to speak to the rail as the TD has disallowed this. He's more focused then I've ever seen him before imo. Playing really well and avoiding the blow up nicely.

The integrity of the live stream is a huge questionmark IMO with this. Needs a longer delay or no communication with the players really

Not that I blame Pete for exploiting an edge if others aren't!

of course, but this is why you ban mobile devices etc for finalists

If the rail (the British lads for example) have a laptop set up on the rail metres away, watching with a minor delay....can't be right

I assume this is why the TD told Pete not to talk to them, and now Pete wants to know the hands, so he is talking to them  :dontask:

Perhaps, but isn't the DTD way where no one on the premises can access the live stream even with the delay simply far preferable?

Even then of course nothing to stop someone on the rail texting someone watching at home and getting the info, I suppose

(this is no criticism of Pete/friends by the way, I am just curious as to the running of the comp)

Whilst this was going on Tom High sneaked into the final side event under the radar...none of us were gonna play it cos we wanted to go out on the last night, but he was determined to continue the record and get someone on the final for every event of the trip - and he did! He came 6th so we are leaving tomorrow an extremely happy bunch.

Excellent series, we will defo keep it on the 'tour' for next year for sure - loved it.
