Reason: Fixed Limit Seven Card Stud Tournament :) Also: PLO I may be the only man in a 50 mile radius under 25 who is ecstatic for fixed limit poker and non holdem games, but that doesn't stop me from promoting them! Stud is a fantastic and highly situational game for tournament poker due to gradually increasing stakes and antes from the very beginning and upcards constantly changing starting hand values. Many complain that fixed limit games are slow and complicated, yet there is no need to think about bet size, only the right action, CHECK or BET, or RAISE, CALL, or FOLD. The hands move faster, not slower, and there is a lot of action due to the large size of the pot vs the small size of the bets Get involved!!! Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? Post by: david3103 on August 20, 2012, 10:12:16 AM APAT is at DTD with possibly the best tourney team in the UK
Goliath is, I believe, played in a hotel function room, with a bunch of dealers uprooted fromn their homes and dumped in Coventry for the week. Both clash with Leeds Festival so neither is an option to be considered in favour of The Foos, The Cure and a weekend of mud and mayhem Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? Post by: TightEnd on August 20, 2012, 10:17:13 AM Here is the APAT schedule
The European Championship of Amateur Poker will take place at Dusk Till Dawn between August 24th and 27th. Aug 24 – ECOAP European Amateur Team Championship – day 1 – £100 + £10 per player Aug 24 – ECOAP Stud Championship – £50 + £5 Aug 25 – ECOAP European Amateur Team Championship – final day Aug 25 – ECOAP Six-Max Championship – £50 + £5 Aug 26 – ECOAP European Amateur Poker Championship – day 1 – £100 + £10 Aug 27 – ECOAP Omaha Championship – £50 + £5 Aug 27 – ECOAP European Amateur Poker Championship – final day Availability for the events; see www.apat.com/forum, or ask APAT on here and they will respond Like last year, a lot of people will play part of both, this year its slightly easier as the clash of dates is less intense. Goliath starts earlier than the APAT main for example. Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? DTD is always my prefered venue, but it's good to get out on the road every now and again to keep it fresh. Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? Post by: david3103 on August 20, 2012, 01:51:28 PM GCasino Cov. Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? Post by: TightEnd on August 20, 2012, 02:01:17 PM ok ty In other words, you are perfectly eligible to play (availability of seats permitting). There's a big Bristol contingent at every APAT, you'll be made to feel very welcome Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? Post by: Pawprint on August 20, 2012, 02:04:51 PM Hi Guys,
The remaining seats for the APAT European Championship of Amateur Poker are now available directly from DTD, either at the cashdesk (As of yesterday) or via their online shop (As of today) Remaining Capacity as of yesterday
I'd expect the 6 Max and Main Event to sell out in advance, with the Pot Limit Omaha likely to sell out over the weekend as players are eliminated from the main event. Regards, Leigh www.apat.com Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? Post by: redsimon on August 20, 2012, 03:03:07 PM Will there be alternates on APAT Main Event on day 1s in case I don't make my mind up quickly enough? :)

Post by: Pawprint on August 20, 2012, 04:00:47 PM Will there be alternates on APAT Main Event on day 1s in case I don't make my mind up quickly enough? :) Three levels of either late entry up to capacity, or the more likely, alternates as players exit. Levels are 45 minutes, and it's a 2:30pm start. I've just released another 12 seats to DTD for the main event. Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? Post by: Killer River on August 20, 2012, 04:58:47 PM I cant wait for the Omaha tourney, so very few of these tourneys around. And its such a great game always action, shame there are not some regular Omaha tourneys at dtd. Even if there was a tourney once a month there it would be nice. It could be run alongside a super 50 with a low gtd just to get established. I would defo be up for that.
Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? Post by: Pawprint on August 25, 2012, 09:20:42 AM The 6 Max event and tomorrow's Main Event were sold out, but DTD have managed to squeeze in a few more seats for anyone wishing to buyin on the day.
Today's 6 max is now capped at 156 (from 108) and the Main Event cap is now just over 250 (from 207) The 6 Max starts at 3pm today , with late reg for 3 levesl upto 4:30pm. You can buyin at the cashdesk or via the Online Shop. And last night the new valets were showing off the new valet uniforms. Mr Prew, you are in for a treat. ;D Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? They tried that, several times, it was a complete disaster, often with less than one full table. A real shame, but them's the facts. Title: Re: Goliath or APAT? Six Max should be a cracking comp, as usual Thanks Rich Should be a great atosphere in the club today. 26 tables of 6-Max and the climax of the team event, with England actually in the mix for a change. |
