Title: Snooker Table For Sale
Post by: jjandellis on September 26, 2012, 12:29:48 PM
I'm helping someone out at work that has been charged with selling the Sergeants Mess snooker table.

I have not seen it myself, but am told it is in very good condition and is a full size, competition standard table (2 building floors on camp have previously been re-enforced to take it).  We used to have a few civilians pay to come and play on it, rather than use the snooker club down town.

It is currently in storage and would need refelting (standard I'm told) when put back together.

It is available at absolute ridic knock down price.  If anyone is interested, please PM me and I'll give you an idea of what they are looking for - and I'll get them to send photos etc along with contact details.

Buyers beware - snooker table beds are slate, THICK slate, & as such, well heavy.

It ain't going in the boot of the Maestro.

This made me chuckle and Tikay has got it bang on, i recently purchased a pool table and the slate for that was the heavy thing I've ever carried and down 3 flights of stairs from a snooker club it was an absolute nightmare.. The guy had 3 full size snooker tables with the slates off and he showed me them all lined up and you would of needed a fackin crane to shift em.. Shame really because I asked what he was  going to do with them and he just said that he'd probably destroy em as it's too much hassle to get them out..

Good luck in selling it tho, if ya need a lift give Mr Russell a shout..

This is the summer house/games room  :P
it's 20x12 ft but I wish I'd gone for 20x14 ft as its got a couple of tight spots although there are smaller pool tables available if ya don't want to go that big.. 6x3 7x3 etc but 7x4 is ya average size table.

Would love too know how much ya can bang one of these summer house's up for?

This probably a clearer shot of table.
The summer house had only been up for 2 days when I purchased table, the Mrs had not really agreed to having one but it was too late, and there was no way I picking up that slate again..  ;tracet;

14"x26" is going to be awesome pal,
Have you got double glazed windows? I haven't but wish I had also as its now getting colder I've got to address the issue of heating, want to protect my table and I've got electric stuff  Tv , beer fridge  lights etc..  Can't decide on what to do and I went down tonight for some practice and it was a bit chilly.

Very nice mate
The main reason I am building it is for the kids we have the space in the garden and they are at "that age "
Where I would prefer them in the garden with their mates than out in the streets ,park or not knowing where they are!

I will post more pics along the way ....however it might take a while a couple of hours here and there!

To address the heating problem mate ....
I would insulate the walls and ceiling first easy to do but could cost a few quid !

This Is the storage area 8" x 4" for all toys and tools etc and at the side is an area of 4" wide so that I can slide the pool table out of the way so we can still have the full 16"x12" area for parties and chilling etc..
Total cost was 3.5K
Ya welcome to come and have a look anytime pal.

Yeh this was mentioned and I was going to do it but because I got the bigger size table I can't afford too lose any room.
Think I might just buy a couple of electric heaters because I've put plenty of sockets in for power..

Do you need planning permission in your area for summer house?

Table looks good Leatherman
One of the first things I plan when I move is a pool/poker room in the garden.
Decent price to pay a supreme. Defo get some heaters in there, don't want the damp ruining the table

Cheers fella, yeh was really chuffed with the price would of payed that without the extra's that I got with it.. Although this table is free play which means it's got no coin operated system so wouldn't be no good in a pub, but is perfect for me because the kids don't need me to keep pushing any coins in.. It still has all the ball return bits inside as normal.
If anything like damp happens to it I will have a proper crywank, also the poker table fits bang inside of cushions.

Probably ! ......as a rule of thumb if its more than 5m away from your house and not more than 4m high 1m away from the boundary and a certain size then no planning.
However I live in a conservation area so rules are different!

Did you need planning ?

Would love a pool table/summer house at the end of the graden, far cheaper to do it yourself than get someone obviously?

How difficult to put together are the DIY summer house kits would you say?

Lol yes pal they basically are just dust collectors, that batch there is probably only 30% of my collection and I only got them down from loft just recently due to a clear out.
Gave a shit load of decantors out too family and friends in the past, mainly because they make mint presents  ;) and the Mrs hates having them in house..
It's funny because the trophy shaped like a triangle is probably one of the first ones I won back in 1997 for a clearance from break, but I couldn't give 2 shits about any of em tbh but I would put a poker trophy on top of the facking TV but I can't win one of them for shit..
