Post by: Sark79 on January 17, 2006, 10:23:57 PM can't watch untill 11pm. Someone is watching History channel at the moment. Sharing a house has major disadvantages when it comes to fighting over TV rights..
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Gamblor21 on January 17, 2006, 10:33:00 PM Its repeated at 1.30am...
What a PASS by Nick with the AQ, I know John is tight but come on! Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Robert HM on January 17, 2006, 11:06:26 PM but passing AK then! Phew
Loved the bit were he introduced Laak to "limpers tax" Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Gamblor21 on January 17, 2006, 11:12:30 PM Yes it was good... he got my line in before me lol!
Yes AK was a big pass but that is how he plays! Did'nt like the 10k allin by ElBlondie... the raise was only 1200. They have done this well tho, loving the show... Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Gamblor21 on January 17, 2006, 11:40:25 PM Don't like that call by Jelly!
Alot of chips... and laak wasnt doing that with out at least having his flush draw covered! Its easy when you can see the cards... Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Sark79 on January 17, 2006, 11:54:09 PM Loved the Unibomber " I am either going to be a chump or a genius", I will have to remember that one.

Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Gamblor21 on January 18, 2006, 12:16:43 AM Yes the Sniffles is a great excuse... used many times when i was at school... and college... and Uni! Good times!
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Karabiner on January 18, 2006, 12:19:42 AM Damn it, my uncle asked me to go with him but i was working!! What a fool - should ave faked illness for a couple of days ;D You could have hung out with Reddog and me Chili. We might be in some of the crowd scenes or tittering in the background during Phil Laak's interview >:? Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Chili on January 18, 2006, 12:31:32 AM Its no good hearing stories about that now. Too late boo hoo. I did hear about Laak's interview though. They wouldn't show it would they?
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: wormster on January 18, 2006, 12:56:48 AM Its no good hearing stories about that now. Too late boo hoo. I did hear about Laak's interview though. They wouldn't show it would they? Hi Chilli, if you mean the I/V he did with me for Poker425, that hasn't been passed on to Sky. Whether it will see the light of day on 425 or not is another question. To be honest, to try & cut it to anything entertaining is going to be difficult & I'm not sure it would not show Phil in the best light. I guess we'll have to wait & see! Hope this doesn't count as spamming but if anyone has missed the show tonight (including me!) here are the repeat times: 18th January 01:30 Sky Sports Xtra 1 18th January 11:30 Sky Sports 2 18th January 15:00 Sky Sports 3 Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Colchester Kev on January 18, 2006, 12:59:07 AM They should have shown the sit and go back at the Hilton after that heat :) the apple pie could have been exposed to millions :D
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: bobby1 on January 18, 2006, 12:59:57 AM Did we evr find out what 'be the spoon' means?
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Colchester Kev on January 18, 2006, 01:00:53 AM Did they include the "Steeeeeeeeeeeeve" moments ??
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: wormster on January 18, 2006, 01:55:29 AM Hi Phil, hope you are well. what do you think of the finished product so far? from what I've seen, it looks great - you must be very proud
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: bobby1 on January 18, 2006, 05:22:32 AM Yes the show was great, Presentable make great poker shows.
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: julian on January 18, 2006, 10:39:41 AM i really enjoyed it, well done all.
at-it, jelly played great i thought but i think he should have given himself a big extra out and moved-in first on the turn - that unibomber looks like he could lay down a big hand esp on the telly! Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Gamblor21 on January 18, 2006, 11:23:33 AM Julian i thought he played great until then! He prob mixed it up more than me in my heat... I was very impressed.
Just that final hand let him down, he was playing great and didnt need to play the hand like that! Calling off all those chips... Laak Played well but 2 people moving in on him when he had aces helped! He's a nice guy tho, if not a little crazy. Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: julian on January 18, 2006, 11:48:47 AM aa, aa, kk....sweet
& i liked his winning a tournament analogy; tying to catch a fish with your hands. andy black was refreshingly honest, and i know lucy won't hold back when it's her turn, gulp. Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Robert HM on January 18, 2006, 11:51:41 AM I enjoyed Andy Black's commentary. Jessie May put a quip in that I enjoyed, when using the Star Wars analogy, he comments "Well John Falconer in no Princess Leha (sp?)" How cruel :D
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Gamblor21 on January 18, 2006, 11:54:42 AM Yes i am now officially worried about the commentary lol... Do you think we can sue if we don't like it?
I really hope my passed hand is edited out! Lucy is probably going to tear the table to shreds from the commentary box, and get in a moan about internet poker too lol... Really looking forward to some of the Ram hands, especially his allin vs Joe and Luke! He had to be bluffin... Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Bongo on January 18, 2006, 11:59:11 AM I really enjoyed this - it was great to see some proper poker played on TV and to be able to hear the players talking.
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Scottish Dave on January 18, 2006, 12:05:43 PM its back on sky sports 2 just now, nick just gone
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Scottish Dave on January 18, 2006, 12:26:46 PM DC short stacked calling a Min raise with 2 3 hearts!!!! What a fish.
Flopped the straight lol Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Exorcism on January 18, 2006, 01:06:49 PM Tony G anyone? ;ifm;
"Heat 2 to be shown next week looks especially mouth-watering as it includes no less than Donnacha O'Dea and Roy "The Boy" Brindley from Ireland, 1998 WSOP winner, Scotty Nguyen, the ultra-aggressive Tony G from Lithuania, France's Pascal "Triple P" Perrault, and WPT winner, Roland de Wolfe. This sounds like unmissable poker entertainment!" http://uk.pokernews.com/news/2006/1/william-hill-grand-prix.htm Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: ifm on January 18, 2006, 01:21:39 PM Does Burnley John always show his hands?
Don't like it myself. Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Bongo on January 18, 2006, 01:30:47 PM Maybe he figured that they'd see them anyway (on TV) so if he showed them there and then he'd be able to make a move later as they wouldn't suspect anything?
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: Scottish Dave on January 18, 2006, 01:52:13 PM Does Burnley John always show his hands? i like to show occasionally, at selected tactical times.Don't like it myself. Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: lvlarc_uk on January 18, 2006, 08:10:35 PM Who won the 1st heat then? I fell alseep when there were 3 left.
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 18, 2006, 08:48:55 PM Mr Phil Laak.
Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: lvlarc_uk on January 18, 2006, 10:29:49 PM Can you recall what happened on the hand where Laak had QQ and the flop was 9 T J. That's the last hand I remember before nodding off.
Cheers Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 18, 2006, 10:32:48 PM Jelly called Laaks bet, turn came a 3rd heart, and Laak moved all-in, Jelly calls with the QT. River is another 9.
Laak then beats Burnley john when the Unusual Suspect runs into Laak's KK with 87. Title: Re: William Hill Gp tonight on Sky Sports... Post by: lvlarc_uk on January 18, 2006, 11:32:44 PM Thanks :)up
