Thought-provoking dark dramas from Charlie Brooker. The first series was excellent, if not a little disturbing at times. I'm sure the second series will be just as good. Series 2 Episode 1 is on next Monday at 10pm, C4. If you haven't seen the first series, you can get them on 4od: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/black-mirror/4od Title: Re: Black Mirror Post by: bobAlike on February 04, 2013, 02:51:00 PM Cliffs on Series 1?
Title: Re: Black Mirror Post by: kinboshi on February 04, 2013, 03:27:17 PM Cliffs on Series 1? Three completely stand-alone stories, that aren't connected at all (so you can watch any of them in any order). The first story was about the PM of the UK and the Princess (a Diana/Kate princess) who is kidnapped and the demands of the kidnapper are a little....different. Second one is a satirical look at talent shows, set in a strange version of society in the future. Third one is also set in the future, where people have a memory implant that enables them to remember everything they see. Can't really describe them, as they aren't your normal dramas. But they're well done, and definitely thought-provoking. Title: Re: Black Mirror Post by: bobAlike on February 04, 2013, 03:30:03 PM Cliffs on Series 1? They're all stand-alone stories.
Title: Re: Black Mirror Post by: corkeye on February 04, 2013, 06:16:52 PM Loved series one, they are very topical as well, a little black humour thrown in like only brooker can, but with an underlying political or at least 'topical' point, that I won't reveal as it'll be a total spoiler.
Can't wait for series two either. Loving ch 4 ATM, utopia is quality, the undatables, the ecstasy trial Title: Re: Black Mirror Post by: Tal on February 05, 2013, 05:41:11 PM Third one from the first series was written by the chaps who write Peep Show (Jesse Armstrong and [insert name of writing partner I've shamefully forgotten]). Not sure whether Charlie Brooker has written all three of the episodes in this series.

Id have gone for: 1 >>>>>>>>>> 3 > 2 myself, but all three were very good. Title: Re: Black Mirror Post by: Tal on February 05, 2013, 09:08:58 PM Thanks for that, Boshi ::) lol

Nope. No pigs. 'The Entire History of You': the one I didn't care much for. Title: Re: Black Mirror Post by: TommyD on February 12, 2013, 02:08:30 PM Robert Downey Jr has bought the film rights to one of the episodes of the first series. Nope. No pigs. 'The Entire History of You': the one I didn't care much for. Probably the best one in regards to scope to make into a film though. I thought it was the weakest of Series One but the concept is probably the best to extend and play with. I thought the first one was clearly the strongest but it was sort of 'done.' I don't think there's much to extend, explain or change on it which will do anything but harm the story. On the new series, I felt Ep 1 was a bit of a let down. Pretty obvious throughout, well acted though, especially the male lead. Title: Re: Black Mirror Post by: RED-DOG on February 13, 2013, 11:24:28 AM So is series 2 episode 1 complete in itself, i.e. episode 2 doesn't follow on?
Title: Re: Black Mirror Post by: AndrewT on February 13, 2013, 11:28:20 AM Yes - they're all self-contained.
