It's just gonna taste like a beef lasagne at the end of the day, or they would have found out ages ago.

I don't really have an issue eating horse but would rather know it's horse I think, i.e. I'd give a horse sausage a go or something. If I had the Findus things in the freezer I don't think I would eat them.  To be fair though, it's not the sort of thing I'd buy in the first place, horse or not.

Its illegal untraceable meat.  Why would you want to eat it?  Do you think the crims that passed it off as beef are just loveable rogues who wouldn't do anything that would hurt people?

Frozen meat products in general:  :)up

Yeah fair enough, but you have bought and paid for it now.

I tried to eat horse once....

Was in a restaurant in France looking at the menu. I understand a bit of French so was doing my best to figure out the options. One item had 'cheval' in it. I don't have any ethical issues about eating horse and I was curious, so I ordered it. My food arrived and it was clearly a ham and egg toastie with a fried egg on top. I asked where the horse was and the waiter pissed himself laughing. When he calmed down he explained to me that the egg was having a 'horsie-back' on the ham and egg toastie.

I thought that was called a "Croque Madame"..?

Also, French don't count when it comes to culinary matters.

I'd eat horse, but not too keen on eating meat that has found its way into my food through 'dodgy' sources.  Was reading that horse-meat might contain phenylbutazone if it hasn't gone through the checks for food standards for human consumption.  Wouldn't be too keen on eating that.

Just say neigh.

Ive had horse (wasnt told till after the event), it tastes fine, but I wouldnt eat it by choice

I think the issues with this horse meat might be the stuff in it (see boshis post)

Findus would have got away with it if it wasn't for the DN neigh test.

Apparently, they spoke to a food critic who tried it.  Said it was good, good to soft in places.

Personally, I think people who don't like eating horse meat are being a bit blinkered.

I'm guessing you've never been to an Abbatoir or a chicken farm/factory?
