Title: Big draw but... Post by: rfgqqabc on February 23, 2013, 05:41:36 AM In my local £1/2 we have 8s 9s in the small blind.A winning reg who is on a big downswing/has taken a break from playing opens to 15. He has been tighter than normal tonight and is desperate not to spew/make poor postflop plays. We are friends so he knows I know all this.
Reg opens to £15. I peel, recreational player peels. Flop Qs Js Ac Rec donks for £13. Reg makes it £44. Rec has a range of Ax hands (weak ones), some like KQ hands maybe some flush draws/straight draws but he would mostly c/c these. Reg understands this. Rec has £85 back and is a bit steamy/tilted. Reg has ~340 at start of the hand. I don't know if he thinks I flat AQ/AJ/JJ pre, he does know i 3b/4b more than any other reg. I'd give myself a pretty low 3b% in this spot although I'm not sure he knows that. As an aside guy between me and rec is a weaker player as well, playing £150. Rec isn't a big squeezer pre. Title: Re: Big draw but... Post by: dakky on February 23, 2013, 12:57:27 PM I probably love the suited connectors more than anyone else but I probably fold this pre OOP to this raise size likely only going to be HU
Title: Re: Big draw but... Post by: pleno1 on February 23, 2013, 10:44:25 PM Fold pre.
Title: Re: Big draw but... Post by: rfgqqabc on February 23, 2013, 11:24:01 PM Fold pre. Live pro mistake from him normally being chipped up and 8s9s excitement :(. On the flop? Title: Re: Big draw but... Post by: dwayne110 on February 23, 2013, 11:41:44 PM I'd fold, only have the Ts as a definite out, your analysis of the reg suggests he's surely strong here too

Post by: SuuPRlim on February 24, 2013, 12:22:23 PM I'd love there to be a way to continue in this hand but there just really isn't one im afriad, sighs.
if I'm IP im overcalling all day long here and LOVING it Title: Re: Big draw but... Post by: EvilPie on February 24, 2013, 12:28:05 PM Fold pre. Surely this. Can't see this hand ever being profitable from the SB As played it's a clear fold now. Think you were looking for smaller cards on the flop really. Don't waste too much brain power thinking about ranges. Just fling 'em in the muck. Title: Re: Big draw but... Very true of a lot of spots actually llol Title: Re: Big draw but... Post by: buffyslayer1 on February 26, 2013, 02:49:40 PM Normally this would be a 3 bet or fold pre
but with a rec player/fish peel is ok even OOP with them in the pot makes it playable. As played sigh fold, its sooooo pretty it breaks my heart :( EDIT - seems from OP rec/fish it tilted steamy deffo ok to call pre then Title: Re: Big draw but... Title: Re: Big draw but... Post by: cashspewtard on February 26, 2013, 03:02:24 PM Fold pre. +1. 89ss in sb and peeling just seems bad. Pretty hand's get people into bad spots post where we have no control of hand being oop. Minimum peel here would be QJs, even then it feels ropey imo! Title: Re: Big draw but... Post by: SuuPRlim on February 26, 2013, 03:29:21 PM more chance of Elvis moonwalking out of the bathroom whilst diego maradonna does backflips than me folding JTs here preflop.

Just fling 'em in the muck. This is about the perfect spot to do this, not only do I know lots about his style having played many hours (with the reg) I also have an extremely good idea of both his mood in his seat at that very moment, as well as history. I agree with the general sentiment though. |
