I think your being a little pedantic with what im saying. Of course it wasnt the "wrong decision" in terms of what you should be doing. But it was the wrong decision in terms of actual result.

At the risk of sounding idiotic...I'm having a bit of difficulty understanding the point of this. There's a basic point about not being results oriented, so we have to call when we should generally call, fold when we should fold, etc.

So, NigDawG made the correct decision in calling (but took longer than most because he was contemplating not doing the right thing?). That wouldn't warrant a thread!

I'm assuming it is more that he made a subjective read but that he calculated a fold isn't right often enough to justify it. That his assessment was closer to the truth in this particular case than his peers' is what has got them cooing.

Is that about right?

Tal, think the point is that whilst the rest of us are ordering jägerbombs and high fiving the dealer, here hero almost made a huge fold and was still thinking about the hand and villain rather than going 'lol top top call you'

Ironically due to the Pokerstars constant shuffle, if he snapped call the river was a K ;)

Actually Stars is on a fixed shuffle, whereas I believe FTP is continuous

The deck is shuffled, and then dealt. The deck is set prior to the shuffle commencing: once it is set, it doesn't change (unless you're playing in a game like Triple Draw where the deck needs to be reshuffled since the game runs out of cards, obviously).

Ironically, the PokerStars shuffle is actually "more" random than a live shuffle. This is because a standard casino hand shuffle is only likely to have 3-4 riffle shuffles, which is insufficient to truly randomise the deck.

A summary at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shuffling makes the point that for a 52-card deck, you need at least seven good riffle shuffles.

What happened here is NigDawG was on the phone to one of his buddies organising the next sweat session. Then that alarm went off when it's your go and NigDawG went oh shit and snap called.

When ur never folding it's pointless spending one second not calling. Them wasted life seconds gonna add up in the end.

This might be true live, because if you call and get knocked out you can go and do something.

If you are playing 30 tables online it's not quite so true.
