Title: UKIPT Isle of Man
Post by: GPPT Jamie on October 11, 2013, 05:54:35 PM
Hi guys,

Next up on the agenda is the inaugural UKIPT Isle of Man held at the historic Villa Marina and featuring the €500,000 GTD £1,100 UKIPT Main Event.

The Isle of Man is a special event as it is the home of PokerStars and the wider Rational Group and as such we are organising a number of unique events and incentives:

- Tours of the PokerStars office and server rooms so players can finally see what goes on behind the scenes at the worlds largest poker site

- Rational Group jobs fair

- We will have our top Team Pros in attendance including but not limited to Daniel Negreanu with further Pros confirming attendance as we speak (will update with a full list shortly).

- Days 3 & 4 will be feature a full webcast as per EPT.

- Enhance UKIPT party and player experience

- The latest VIP Club Live party also takes place on Wednesday October 30th, details of how to purchase tickets via the link below below:

http://www.pokerstars.com/vip/live/isle-of-man/

The full schedule has now been released and will include on site cash games for the duration of the event:

http://www.ukipt.com/tournaments/iom/

How to get there:

The easiest option is to fly with regular flights to Isle of Man provided by Easy Jet, FlyBe and British Airways from most major UK cities and from Dublin for ROI. Alternatively you can take the scenic route via the ferry which departs from Liverpool or Heysham.

Please note that as a ONE TIME EXCEPTION PokerStars staff will be able to enter the main event (with the exception of anyone connected to the live event team).

Flights are relatively cheap at the moment and we would recommend booking now to secure the best prices.

Satellites are running now on PokerStars and for the next two weeks the Thursday 20:02 £162 qualifier has 2 packages ADDED for the next three weeks - i.e. we're adding £3200 to the prize pool.

Any questions please feel free to ask and I will update with further exciting announcements we have in the pipeline.

Cheers,

Jamie

If they are organising tours of offices and server rooms as entertainment then I can only imagine not too great..

Never been to Isle of man, could be worth taking a shot at this.

Only been there once for a couple of days. Not much nightlife, a bunch of pubs and a casino on the seafront is all I remember.

There's a wonderful golf course at the Southern end of the island near the airport called Castletown which I would heartily recommend playing, weather permitting.

I remember being pleasantly surprised by the night life to be honest. It's not London or Berlin but i've had a couple of decent nights there.

bobAlike - Everyone who takes the tour will either be boomed or doomed for the remainder of 2013 (AKA boom switch roulette) ;)

Hi Guys

Satellites start tomorrow :)

We have kept the buy-ins matching last weeks £150 sats so that you can use any unused tokens whether they be £5, £25 or £168 (£168 won from Deepstack or Six Max sats need to be converted to the right tokens so you can use them just email me to do this - Nicola@dusktilldawnpoker.com)

Packages must be used for UKIPT Isle of Man so £168 tokens won for these satellites will expire after this event as they're one-off satellites.

Any questions give us a shout.

Thanks Nic

Hi Paul

These packages must be used for UKIPT Isle of Man as we've already committed to 20 packages with PS.

It's not in Ireland but is a small ferry or flight to get there. You get hotel and expenses to get there.

Thanks Nicola

There were 75 runners for the first of the TEN seat Guaranteed UKIPT Mega Sats last night, about 25% short of the guaranteed seat total

Very well done to Tom Somerville and Fred Wise who were amongst those winning seats for later in the week

Hi Guys

I have asked iPoker to up the GTE on the £25 Satellites to 3 seats GTD every hour - this keeps the minimum at 4 runners so they have the same chance of running as before - these are active now :)

If you wish to play the IOM and get in really cheap then I highly recommend getting online ASAP and playing the £25 MEGA FEEDERS - they will be excellent value.

We have a £4,000 overlay last night and I can only predict the same for tonight based on the incredible £16,000 worth of packages GTD.

Good Luck Nicola

From pokerstars FAQ's:

I have won a PokerStars UKIPT prize package - can I bring a guest?

Yes, if your package includes Hotel. Your hotel room will be booked in your name by PokerStars for the specified dates.

And fwiw I said bed, not room!

On Day 1a, 113 players entered the £1,100 Main Event, but after eight levels it was Dara O'Kearney who was left as the chip leader going into Day 2 with 112,100 in chips.

The Irishman had a very slow start, dropping down to around 18,000 midway through the day before he flew up to the very top of the leader board in the last couple of levels.

Indeed, for most of the day it looked to be Niall Farrell who would dominate the counts, as the Scotsman was the first player to break six-figures, but he lost several large pots near the end of the evening to fall back a bit. Even so, Farrell wrapped up the day in ninth place overall with 73,600 in chips.

Day 1a Top 10 Chip Counts

Rank   Player   Chips
1   Dara O'Kearney   112,100
2   Jamie O'Connor   105,900
3   Chris Straghalis   102,300
4   Alexander Schilt   101,400
5   Caleb Sheridan   90,300

"Duncan McLellan tonight bagged up an enormous 870,000 stack, close to twice as much as his closest rival"

Duncan is a DTD reg, not sure if he was one of the DTD Satellite 20. An unorthodox player, not a great fan of passing

Good luck to him

Quite a field assembled below him

PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo is 2nd
