Title: The Forgotten RSQ
Post by: WotRTheChances on April 28, 2014, 05:01:34 PM
Rules

There are 11 questions, to enter you should PM your answers by Monday 5th May 20:00.  Please put RSQ in the subject line (otherwise you will receive an additional penalty point to your score), and put each answer on a different line (same penalty for ignoring this as well).

Your score for each question is number of people who give the same correct answer. So you want to go for answers that you think will be less commonly given. Levelling commonly happens. The answer most commonly given is called the sheep, with the corresponding sheep score.

You are not allowed to do research such as Google searches to come up with answers. Just read the questions, wrack your brain, think ‘what would Andrew T do’ etc… These aren’t meant to be impossible questions the skill isn’t in thinking of an answer, it’s in thinking up an uncommon answer

If you give an incorrect answer, you will receive the sheep score +5.

You MUST pass on one question and score a 0 for that question, and you may not pass the final question.

Objections will be considered during the reveal, however my decision will be final. The reveal will likely take place on Tuesday 6th May, unless, like Kinboshi, i decide to take a long holiday, or just fancy ignoring everyone for an extended period of time. If there is a tie for the lead after the 11 rounds, then there will be a tie-break question. This will be given on the evening of the reveal and will probably be a closest-wins type affair.

Questions

Question 1
Name an act that has won 'Britain's Got Talent' or 'The X Factor'.
(only winners of the UK versions of these shows will be accepted)

Question 2
Name an EPT winner from the 20 poker players that appear in the image below:

(http://i1278.photobucket.com/albums/y504/Thomas_High/EPTWinnersRSQ_zpse4b4ab4c.png) (http://s1278.photobucket.com/user/Thomas_High/media/EPTWinnersRSQ_zpse4b4ab4c.png.html)

Question 3
Name a prime number between 1 and 50 (inclusive).

Question 4
Name a town in my home county of Norfolk (there are 28).

Question 5
Name one of the women Lou Bega likes/wants 'a little bit of' in the song 'Mambo No.5'.

Question 6
Name a cricketer who was born outside the UK, but has represented England at Test level (past or present).

Question 7
Name a film/documentary that won an Oscar at the 2014 86th Academy Awards.
(any actor/actress/director etc. winning an award for a role in a film counts as that film winning an award)

Question 8
Name a person in the Top 20 All Time Money List at Dusk Till Dawn (total tournament cashes at the venue) according to The Hendon Mob, as of 12:00 28/04/14.

Question 9
Name a station on the London Underground map that lies INSIDE the boundaries of the Circle Line. Stations ON the Circle Line DO NOT count.
(for clarity Barons Court, West Kensington and Earl's Court are not accepted, there are still 23 to choose from)

Question 10
We all know Blonde member and Countdown whizz Andrew 'Stato_1' Hulme is a bit handy with the letters. In one crucial match, the Countdown Grand Final, Andrew was at a critical stage in his match with arch rival Chris Davies. He trailed 76-97 with only a few rounds to go. On this particular round his opponent Chris found a 6, but our hero crumbled attempting a 9. Unfortunately for Andrew 'houseload' isn't a word, but can you find a 6 or better that would have kept Stato in the hunt? (there are 19 in there to choose from).

O A O E U H D L S

Question 11
As previously, give an answer that someone else gave for one of the first ten questions

Tom who?

Leave the man alone will you. He doesn't have to reveal his true identity if he doesn't want to, he could be Tom Cruise or Tom Daley or (hopefully) Tom Hardy, trying to maintain his privacy whilst still interacting with normal folk!

Nah, just go with whatever for 10. If you look closely you'll actually see it's already a word

Will be in, as soon as I come up with any answer for either Q 7 or 8. Still got a total blank on both. Yet another specialist DTD question :'( but, in fairness, most other people would know a movie. I must have heard answers for both at some point, so I'll keep searching my memory for something.

Struggled, but in.

Spent an inordinate amount of time on the countdown question. Not healthy IMO.

Right. Last entries have been taken, 17 runners in total. The reveal promises to be a really good sweat. I can do it now, or tomorrow evening sometime. What do people want?

Spoke to a couple others, think it's probably bad form to do the reveal now and have a chunk of people miss out. So i'll set the reveal for TOMORROW AT 8PM. Be there. It'll be a close one :)

Never even thought this might be tonight, even though I've been posting on the forum tonight. Your lack of customers is probably something to do with this:
The reveal will likely take place on Tuesday 6th May

QUESTION 10

We all know Blonde member and Countdown whizz Andrew 'Stato_1' Hulme is a bit handy with the letters. In one crucial

match, the Countdown Grand Final, Andrew was at a critical stage in his match with arch rival Chris Davies. He trailed

76-97 with only a few rounds to go. On this particular round his opponent Chris found a 6, but our hero crumbled

attempting a 9. Unfortunately for Andrew 'houseload' isn't a word, but can you find a 6 or better that would

have kept Stato in the hunt? (there are 19 in there to choose from).

O A O E U H D L S

If we polled 100 priests, how many do you think would know the word?

I'm suggesting it may indeed be an ex-word...

In thy case my counter objection is that it wouldn't score in countdown as it's not in the dictionary they use.
Unless of course it is, in which case I withdraw.

Indeed, it has to count in the dictionary (oxford english), where it could not be found.

The question stated it had to get him back into the game on the Countdown show. If it's not in the dictionary, it wouldn't have done this... therefore is wrong

As per the OP. There will be a tie-breaker between arbboy and stato_1 to determine the winner.

Neither of them seem to be about at the moment? But i'll post the question anyway. They have until 10pm to get back on here with their answer  (Obviously PM me your answers). I won't contact either, but anyone is welcome to get in contact with them to make sure they don't miss out. Closest wins.

The Final Question

As the crow flies, what is the distance (in miles) from Dusk Till Dawn, to every poker players paradise... The WSOP at The Rio, Las Vegas.

Ok that's it. It's 10pm according to my computer. No answer from stato_1.

arbboy sent in a guess of 4500 miles, which is actually pretty good. The answer was 5124 miles.

Congratulations arbboy. Quiz master duties are now firmly in your hands. :) gl

Very good WotR! Enjoyed that sweat. Not very often I'm up there with the leaders. So glad my hugely cocky answer to q11 was not embarrassingly punished :P

Enjoyed Stato's penalty at the end very much and wp to arboy.

The sweat was ruined though as I'd seen Arboys quiz in the lounge already lol.
