Title: Pricing A Poker Player Against Field
Post by: Kmac84 on August 07, 2014, 05:40:36 PM
Assuming player in question is above average reg who does ok online what price would we make him to win a live Glasgow donk fest?

How do our odds change depending on runners.  We expect 40 but what if we get between 35 - 55?

Off top of my head in a. 40 runner field I would say something like 12/1 was a fair price.

Thoughts please ?

This is a £30 buy in and it's 6 max

true price is probably 16-20/1 if he is decent.  I wouldn't want to be laying much bigger than 12/1 if you are thinking of laying a bet.  Assuming this is sub £50 buyin event.  If it's bigger buy in then true price would be closer to 20-25/1

Wanna bet myself to final table and win 3k sky highroller this week coming up- probably be 60-70 runners, only my first bullet counts. Anyone wanna quote me some prices please (6 max so final is last 6 not 9)

I would say slightly higher if we are saying price is to win and doesn't include nominal chip count wins for example. More like 25/1

I'd not bet against you, if you have your serious game head on.

PS - The Final of a 6 Max is 7 handed, yes?

Isn't that the "unofficial final" same as 10 when 9 handed?

you'll probably end a career or two...

"I played tournaments for years, but my career ended abruptly one night in August 2006, when I came up against a player called Dave Shallow...."

Can't quote a price at the amount you'd want to bet.  Would be like the 888 England Promtion.  I'd be perfectly fine iso long as you don't win.
