There was a world of diff back then, probably not now though. Sorry can't be of any further help.
Title: Re: new tablet Post by: Ironside on July 26, 2015, 04:32:58 AM No worries my first thought was the iPad Air 2 but price on contract seems execessive compared to my current iPad and as I usaully only use it as a TV screen wasn't to happy with the £39 a month quotes

You should be able to get £80-150 for your old one depending on its condition Title: Re: new tablet Post by: Woodsey on July 26, 2015, 10:17:20 AM Get the battery replaced in your current iPad? Current iPad is in tip top shape other than battery been in a case since I bought it Title: Re: new tablet Post by: mulhuzz on July 26, 2015, 10:48:23 AM For around £100 you won't do better than a HUDL2 from Tesco.
No it's not an iPad obv. But still decent and very good value for £. Title: Re: new tablet Post by: Ironside on July 26, 2015, 10:50:01 AM What difference would I notice Mulhuzz?
Title: Re: new tablet Post by: mulhuzz on July 26, 2015, 11:01:51 AM What difference would I notice Mulhuzz? Bit smaller, bit slower, has Android not iOS. Not everything as smooth running, can't do 3D gaming super well (it's ok) but is 1/4 price of an iPad. For something a bit beefier which really does go toe to toe with the iPad on every level, Nexus 9 by Google available for around £2xx (depending on 16gb or 32gb) Title: Re: new tablet Post by: Ironside on July 26, 2015, 11:06:04 AM 3d gaming? Closest I come to gaming on my iPad is 2048 lol

But still decent and very good value for £. +1 for the HUDL2 from Tesco. From what you say you do the only real difference will be the smaller screen. It is a similar size to the iPad mini. I use an iPad Air but my Dad got a HUDL2. I set it up for him and was really impressed with it. Title: Re: new tablet Post by: david3103 on July 26, 2015, 02:09:11 PM Hudl2 is ok but not a patch on the ipad. We bought hudl for the two grandsons and they suffice and are very good for the price. But iron can get his ipad fixed for the cost of a hudl and less than the nexus.
NB the hudl feels very insubstantial compared to the ipad. |
