Title: Not std for me! Post by: mondatoo on October 09, 2015, 06:00:57 PM I was going to start this after Pads posted in the Coffee Shop thread as his list will be hilarious having me and Beaneh in disbelief in Marbella (post it Patrick :P).
So yeah, share in here the things that most people just assume everybody will have tried at least once that you have never had. I'll start with a few of mine : Coffee - As mentioned in The Coffee Shop thread I just can't stand the smell of it Marmite - Just looks vile, can't do it Mustard - Similarly the smell puts me off completely Also what food or drink's do you regularly have that others will probably find weird ? We have a family tradition of putting raw Onion on a Sunday dinner, all the Males in the Family have it and all love it, but I've never heard of anyone else doing that, my Grandad would regularly eat a full raw Onion like it was an Apple, thankfully that one didn't get passed down. I used to be slightly obsessed with putting brown sauce on everything, brown sauce sandwiches, just have brown sauce on it's own, end up sickening myself with it though, don't have it much now. Title: Re: Not std for me! Post by: KarmaDope on October 09, 2015, 06:20:58 PM Dont really have anything that I have never had, but I refuse to eat eggs despite trying many times, they just taste godawful whether theyre boiled, fried or scrambled. Even gone off the yolk which I could stomach as a kid.
Never had a fillet steak though for reasons ive gone into before. Two things I can't stop eating though atm are fish finger sandwiches and a different sandwich. Fish finger sandwich has to be toasted bread with three fish fingers, pinch of salt and pepper, pinch of Aromat and tommy k obv. Been given another variation to try which might happen this weekend. The other sandwich is pretty much what I eat in work every day. Two slices of bread, four slices of Pork Luncheon meat and Salad Cream lashed liberally all over it. Fkin weird, I know! Title: Re: Not std for me! Post by: mondatoo on October 09, 2015, 06:36:37 PM Lolz, I was thinking I'd remember more things once others put theirs up, but I've no idea how I could forget eggs, there is nothing I detest more.
Never had eggs, but once had one accidentally put on my Fry Up, and as it had contaminated other items on the plate I spent the rest of the day feeling sick from the taste left over. Truly horrid things, I'd gladly drink 10 cups of Coffee before I'd go near an Egg. Nobody will find Fish Finger sandwiches weird surely, obv they incred, lot of love been shown for them on here previously, most pubs sell them up here. Title: Re: Not std for me! Also, Southern Comfort. Even the smell of it makes me become 17yr old Hutch chun feeing his little brains out in the park again. Title: Re: Not std for me! You can add Milk to the list as well from the age of five. I had it at school under Maggie's free milk govt and hated it and have never had it neat again on cereal and/or as a drink. Vast majority of these are purely on smell. I struggle to understand how you can hate the smell of something but enjoy eating it. Title: Re: Not std for me! Actually, there are many things I never eat - burgers, sausages and beef come to mind. Never tried a kebab. Never tried any kind of shellfish. But prawns are my nightmare. I can't even bear to be with someone who is eating them, though I have had to do so many times. If one ever gets on my plate, I will throw out the whole meal. Even thinking about them is putting me off my dinner now. Why did I start writing about them? Title: Re: Not std for me! Oddly I quite like a cold custard tart and I'm fine with cold milk. I like hummous and was interested to learn that it has become such a staple in recent years that there is now/was recently a world shortage of chickpeas. Title: Re: Not std for me! Any beer that proclaims itself to be a 'smooth bitter', or that makes a selling point out of needing to be served extra cold. I've tried these, but would rather drink post-mix Coke than any of them. Title: Re: Not std for me! Post by: Doobs on October 10, 2015, 01:15:44 AM Can't stomach tequila at all. Literally makes me hurl every time. I would really struggle to name a food that I have been offered and haven't eaten. Some Chinese deserts are pretty inedible, but they aren't going to count as regular food here.
On the drinks front, never drunk wkd or any other drinks of that genre. Suspect the closest I have got is flavoured vodka shots. Edit you can add Bacardi breezers to that list too. What is that about? And all those Swedish flavoured ciders. And 20/20, simply no idea what is in that or the differences between it and fairy liquid. Didn't realise I was such a fussy git!
