Held since 1975, the contest honours the best professional or amateur, digital or film photography through a microscope's lens, proving that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes (and, indeed, some very surprising places).
I have 15 images when you get one right, we'll do the next one will give clues if required first up is the winning photo, can you guess what this is? If so, it's a bacterial infection or natural bacterial colony of some kind with the host cells (definitely human/animal) being the ones stained blue?

Probably a lab animal. Mouse, rabbit, rat, monkey? As its a colon I'd guess that it's natural fauna and not an infection. Title: Re: Can you guess what it is yet?
