All things bright and beautiful are celebrated in the annual Nikon Small World Photomicrography competition. Held since 1975, the contest honours the best professional or amateur, digital or film photography through a microscope's lens, proving that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes (and, indeed, some very surprising places).

I have 15 images

when you get one right, we'll do the next one

will give clues if required

The stuff that looks like hundred and thousands - are they bacteria? If so, it's a bacterial infection or natural bacterial colony of some kind with the host cells (definitely human/animal) being the ones stained blue?

which animal (the body part is a colon)?

Probably a lab animal. Mouse, rabbit, rat, monkey? As its a colon I'd guess that it's natural fauna and not an infection.

I've actually used something very similar in a lesson at school so I won't ruin this one.
