Title: Help an old boy out please.
Post by: booder on December 22, 2015, 10:55:40 AM
Another "recommend a laptop thread".

Hoping to make use of the forums superior knowledge.

My laptop is on its last legs (acer aspire 5735) running windows vista (has been a brilliant lappy)so i need to get a new one.

Will be using it for...

gaming  (football manager and total war )
 internetting (blonde ,facebook,you tube)
 films   (downloading and viewing)

Have managed to scrape together £200 and could probably get hold of another £150 so budget is £350 ish

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thank you.

Oh yeah buying a machine that's a free upgrade to window 10 rather than pre installed can was a few quid and the upgrade is simple and takes less than 30 minutes on most computers

I've always had 17" Laptops, but my old man has a 15" Dell, and it seems plenty big enough.

I'm not a gamer but it looks like Total War might be a resource hog - the suggested specs for the new Warhammer edition are fairly high end.

Good suggestions from Marky and Ironside - at a slightly lower price this (http://www.ebuyer.com/703414-dell-vostro-3546-laptop-3546-8444) is another option.
