Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: Redbull on April 12, 2006, 11:37:28 PM Chili, you did great! :)up
Came across on TV as the strongest player there. Sign of a good player when you can grind your way to heads up with few strong hands. Nice and aggressive. Can I have your autograph if I see you at Notts again ;) Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: Chili on April 12, 2006, 11:43:26 PM Cheers guys. The runner up heat is tomorrow at 10pm. My wife had a girly night in so i was out at 6!!! Just got back.....*hick* Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: tikay on April 13, 2006, 01:21:16 AM Picking up on an earlier Post, yes, Chili payed great, but as she said, so did Claire - that was SOME call by Clare on the end, just as it was some audacious "move" by Chili. Great stuff by both of them. Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on April 13, 2006, 02:59:09 AM wasnt really gr8 call by clare was it? she called with outs and was forced to making it because of the value in the pot - she probably never realised her Q and 10 were outs too. but it was a great move by chilli.
Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: tikay on April 13, 2006, 03:12:11 AM Well, true, it's unlikely she realised that she also had 3 Queens & 3 Tens running for her, but it sure was a brave call, whatever way you look at it. This was, in effect, for her whole Tourney. If, as you suggest, she only called for value, well, all things considered, it was a really gutsy call in that spot. Just as it was a helluva play by Maria, again, for her whole tourney - pre that hand, both of them had exactly 300,000 chips each!
Proper Poker! Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: charmaine on April 13, 2006, 07:30:39 AM Claire and Chilli played very well , and didnt they both look gorgeous !!! ;applause; :respect: ;applause;
Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: smithy69 on April 13, 2006, 08:37:07 AM I watched the comp from start to finish, and was really impressed with both Chilli,Claire and John Kabbaj's lovely wife. They played good poker, but why do they let celebs play who don't have a scoobies. Angela Griffin calling off over half her stack with
Js 6d on a Kc Jh Kh 3d Ac board. Including a 20k call on the end.They only started with 100k each. Just took the shine off a otherwise great few hours of poker. Well played all the lovely ladies Is Claire a member of blonde!"!!!!! Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: AdamM on April 13, 2006, 09:31:03 AM >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Fab play what I saw of it - great aggressive play heads up - the other girl just didn't know where she was - wonderful. Good luck in Ireland Chilli - so glad I am going to brighton......! Im not sure whether Tikay meant there was a hand to remember in the heats before or in the one last night - it may have been the K 10 hand but i have a feeling there was a different hand in a previous heat. Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: tikay on April 13, 2006, 02:13:56 PM I caught the tail end of the +1 repeat so only saw the last few hands - after Tikay had said on 425 that one of the hands played by Chilli was exceptional - and you would know when you saw it.....I missed it and am on the edge of my seat......I want to see it again - anyone know when it repeats again?? - Or can tell me the hand??? Well, as the Show has now aired, there is no harm in revealing "the hand". But you need to think about it in context. For both Claire & Chili, this was the biggest comp they had ever played, their TV Debut, & just ONE of them would go through to the 6 person Final, with a 5-1 shot at really serious money. The loser would go ino a Consolation Heat, with no route to the Final. And they were both conscious that everyone would be scrutinising their play via the hole-card cameras - those of us at the Studio including Dave Colclough & Claire's partner, Luke Smith, and everyone at home. NOT a good time to make a daft play, then. Claire had been Chip Mummy, but Chili had battled back, mostly by stealing, & aggression. At the start of what turned out to be the final hand, they both had exactly the same chip stack - 300,000 each! I forget the suits, but they were not relevant, flush draws never entered the equation. I happen to be very good pals with both Claire & Maria (Chili), so maybe this clouds my judgement. But given the circumstances, I'm still knocked out by the ballsy play of this hand by both players. Claire is dealt Qs Th Chili is dealt 6h 3c Chili Raises, (!) Claire calls. The flop is Jd 9c 3d Giving Chili bottom pair, & Claire an up & down straight draw. Chili bets out with her bottom pair. Claire Re-Raises with her draw. Chili moves all-in! She KNOWS that if she gets called, she's dead. Claire calls.....! She KNOWS thast if she misss, she's dead. Wonderful stuff, & I was immensely proud that they were both blondeites. Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: byronkincaid on April 13, 2006, 02:34:29 PM What were the blinds?

The blinds at this time were 10k-20k. Still remarkable play. Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: Chili on April 13, 2006, 03:02:08 PM ok ok ok thanks guys for all the smoke! I just wanted to add that my play at the end was "RABBISH" :D :D
Thats rubbish for all you non cockney speakers. Seriously though, on reflection, why did i do it? We were not long into the heads up and my biggest mistake of the whole heat was not realising that we were actually level on chips! I had been behind for so long in the heat and in the heads up that i was still in small stack mode! I guess it was balsy because my reckoning at the time is purely that if she hit nothing, she couldn't call that many chips. I have found out that i am more of a gamblor than i thought! But it was early and i could have waited for a much better chance than bottom pair!! Well, i live and learn and apart from that last decision i wouldnt have changed anything. Watch again tonight guys to see how things turn out when nearly all your moves go right! Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: Dingdell on April 13, 2006, 03:44:03 PM I thought it was great play - very ballsy - and you know that normally it's the players with the balls who win (the men) so well done!
Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: tikay on April 13, 2006, 07:13:08 PM What time & Channel tonight Maria?

Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: NoflopsHomer on April 14, 2006, 12:30:02 AM Well done Chills, I like your push with the K7 on the turn, if they both miss their sets, I would think both would have folded.
Good luck in Dublin!!! :respect: Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: Chili on April 14, 2006, 12:35:14 AM ta very much. Its amazing how much is actually cut out though! They edited my best hand by far in both heats. I raised it up with 7 4 off, got one caller. Hit nothing on the flop and bet out and she passed! Maybe they took pity on me and didnt want to embarras me on TV :D
Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: Ironside on April 14, 2006, 12:37:08 AM i did notice you fold the full wilson while the action was at the crap shoot stage
Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: Chili on April 14, 2006, 12:38:03 AM Yes, i folded that one because "my work" with 7 4 had already been done previously!!
Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: tikay on April 14, 2006, 12:44:30 AM Yes, i folded that one because "my work" with 7 4 had already been done previously!! She had to meet 3 objectives. Win one hand with 7-4 off. Win one of her Heats. Wear a huge in 'yer face blondepoker Logo. 3 out of 3! We got a little flak for the size of the Logo, but I explained to Mad Marty that it was a lot smaller before she put it on. Mad Marty just said "Oh, OK....". I was hoping he'd want me to measure it. Plans of mice & men, eh? Title: Re: It's Chili Time Post by: Ironside on April 14, 2006, 12:48:55 AM i did hear roy ask why she had blondepoker on her chest when her hair has red thru it
