Picking up on an earlier Post, yes, Chili payed great, but as she said, so did Claire - that was SOME call by Clare on the end, just as it was some audacious "move" by Chili. Great stuff by both of them.

wasnt really gr8 call by clare was it? she called with outs and was forced to making it because of the value in the pot - she probably never realised her Q and 10 were outs too. but it was a great move by chilli.

Well, true, it's unlikely she realised that she also had 3 Queens & 3 Tens running for her, but it sure was a brave call, whatever way you look at it. This was, in effect, for her whole Tourney. If, as you suggest, she only called for value, well, all things considered, it was a really gutsy call in that spot. Just as it was a helluva play by Maria, again, for her whole tourney - pre that hand, both of them had exactly 300,000 chips each!

I watched the comp from start to finish, and was really impressed with both Chilli,Claire and John Kabbaj's lovely wife. They played good poker, but why do they let celebs play who don't have a scoobies. Angela Griffin calling off over half her stack with
on a
board. Including a 20k call on the end. They only started with 100k each.
Just took the shine off a otherwise great few hours of poker.
Well played all the lovely ladies

I caught the tail end of the +1 repeat so only saw the last few hands - after Tikay had said on 425 that one of the hands played by Chilli was exceptional - and you would know when you saw it.....I missed it and am on the edge of my seat......I want to see it again - anyone know when it repeats again?? - Or can tell me the hand???
Fab play what I saw of it - great aggressive play heads up - the other girl just didn't know where she was - wonderful. Good luck in Ireland Chilli - so glad I am going to brighton......!

Im not sure whether Tikay meant there was a hand to remember in the heats before or in the one last night - it may have been the K 10 hand but i have a feeling there was a different hand in a previous heat.

Well, as the Show has now aired, there is no harm in revealing "the hand". But you need to think about it in context. For both Claire & Chili, this was the biggest comp they had ever played, their TV Debut, & just ONE of them would go through to the 6 person Final, with a 5-1 shot at really serious money. The loser would go ino a Consolation Heat, with no route to the Final. And they were both conscious that everyone would be scrutinising their play via the hole-card cameras - those of us at the Studio including Dave Colclough & Claire's partner, Luke Smith, and everyone at home. NOT a good time to make a daft play, then.
Claire had been Chip Mummy, but Chili had battled back, mostly by stealing, & aggression.
At the start of what turned out to be the final hand, they both had exactly the same chip stack - 300,000 each!
I forget the suits, but they were not relevant, flush draws never entered the equation.
I happen to be very good pals with both Claire & Maria (Chili), so maybe this clouds my judgement. But given the circumstances, I'm still knocked out by the ballsy play of this hand by both players.
Claire is dealt
Chili is dealt
Chili Raises, (!) Claire calls.
The flop is
Giving Chili bottom pair, & Claire an up & down straight draw.
Chili bets out with her bottom pair.
Claire Re-Raises with her draw.
Chili moves all-in! She KNOWS that if she gets called, she's dead.
Claire calls.....! She KNOWS thast if she misss, she's dead.
Wonderful stuff, & I was immensely proud that they were both blondeites.

i believe Clare bet out her draw first (CHilli hadnt acted as she was on the button) and Chilli then went all in over the top for something llike another120-140k!
The blinds at this time were 10k-20k.
Still remarkable play.

ok ok ok thanks guys for all the smoke! I just wanted to add that my play at the end was
"RABBISH"
Thats rubbish for all you non cockney speakers. Seriously though, on reflection, why did i do it? We were not long into the heads up and my biggest mistake of the whole heat was not realising that we were actually level on chips! I had been behind for so long in the heat and in the heads up that i was still in small stack mode!
I guess it was balsy because my reckoning at the time is purely that if she hit nothing, she couldn't call that many chips. I have found out that i am more of a gamblor than i thought! But it was early and i could have waited for a much better chance than bottom pair!! Well, i live and learn and apart from that last decision i wouldnt have changed anything. Watch again tonight guys to see how things turn out when nearly all your moves go right!
