Lawrie Sanchez was one of the first players out

Down to 16,000 he raises with A-J, was called by Ashley Twigg with 2-2

A-X-2 flop, and Twigg got the lot

As we move to the first break of the day, after three levels, we are at 206 runners, still 72 short of the guarantee

exits so far are

198    Anonymous
199    Micheal Sharkey
200    Ryan Spittles
201    Lynne Beaumont
202    Mark Mccluskey
203    Lawrence Sanchez
204    Glyn Cooke
205    Mohammed Ghollamrezapoue

blinds go 150-300 ra 25 next

The break is going to be a long one, as we pause for the Grand National

I ran a Grand National sweep in here. I meant well, but it managed to attract moans from some. Which is surprising, from poker players.

I might just divvy it up with my bipolar other half in the car park.

Sat next to Eso and he gives tighty £20 and says "ill have number 1" in the Grand national sweepstake.

So I obv follow him and hand it over then saying "number 10 please".

Sit down after spending the break watching the race and chatting to Kinboshi...
only for tighty to announce the top 3 and without even realising it I've come 3rd for £100! bink!

Now freerolling the deepstack, lets make this work!!

The secret diary of secret agent John "KGB" Black

Security: Top Secret

Title: #realjohnblackupdates

Sub-title: Through the blinds with Agent Black

" I am playing in Nottingham, camoflauged in the brightest Caribbean shirt I can find. Subtext, fool the muggles into thinking I can't play.

Drew an easy table.

Seat 1. Eso Kral. Punter. Doesn't normally wear a shirt. New dad. Sleep deprived
Seat 2 Me. This is a stepping stone to the One Drop event at Vegas in the summer, where I will play disguised as Agent Sam Trickett
Seat 3 Nick Hicks. Seems nice. I have him as weak though. nice is weak. You need to be ruthless, like me crushing 5p-10p online and progressing to..5p-10p on another site
seat 6 Kinboshi. Nice. Nice is weak though. Thanks for the note from Q not to mention religion, speed cameras, homeopathy and Kenny Dalgliish
seat 8 Ben Vinson. Some random. Seems decent but not to my standard

Hand 1

I am in the small blind, my favourite position as they rarely see me coming to outplay them from there. My favourite is the smooth rim float jam that works so well on Friday nights against the Russians.

Nick Hicks raises to 1000 UTG at 200-400

Perfect. Phase one of my deception plan successful. I can now outplay him down the streets

I call. Again, I am nonchalant and flip the chips in like Le Cidre in Casino Royale. I still need to perfect the tears of blood as a reverse tell when I have the nuts though. No mpoint wasting it on these players though. Save it for Danny and Hellmuth in the summer when I amcrushing them.

the flop comes as I expected

10h 9s 3h

I check for deception with the aim to float with flair, dexterity and not a little technique

He c-bets 1,100

Perfect, that phase 3 complete

I call, as to plan

As long as it doesn't come the 2d, as I have him on 2-2.I will float

turn 2d.

Oh, Agent P leno never told me about this spot. I have 100,000 hands on eactly this flop against exactly this type of player and its never come the 2d

I check, exuding strength hiding my inner confusion

He bets 3,600

I look at him, searching for breathing tells as taught to me in basic training by Agent P leno. He doesn't appear to be breathing.

I decide to fold, confident nonetheless that I could float and outplay him on the river if I wanted to

Hand 2

seat 9 raises to 800 on my big blind

I flick through my mental Heada Up display for the page in my manual that prepares me for this

Eso Kral 2050 on the button

I have Q-Q but confident I am up against Aces from the way his chips went into the pot I fold.

The initial raiser calls and check folds on  Js  Ac 3h

I knew I was right to fold!

Hand 3.

Now I am on the button. This is my domain, no one will mess with my button. I am he-john, master of the Black clan, Agent of doom

Will Webster raises to 1,100 UTG

On the button I decide to fold a two way combination post flop monster against this player, to lull him into a false sense of security

Agent Black. Out.

He gets no less than seven callers, including Andrew bobalike on the button with   Jc Qc

flop  Js 8h 3h

Small blind Martyn Frey 3,000 with  Ahrt 2h

Betts 9,000

Both playing 23,000

bobalike sets them in for 23,000 effective

both call

Betts drawing thin then...

bobalike's top pair Queen kicker holds, he knocks two out and goes to a chip lead with 130,000

Br-Unskilled labour, an everyday story of Sheffield business folk

"I woke up this morning with a busy to-do list

a) Sell my start up business in the field of cryo-technologies. Have been negotiatiing with Bill Gates for ages and I left him in the Sheffiled Hallam travelodge last night considering a counter offer for my 0.6% stake in the business.

b) Return four shirts with holes in them to Meadowhall. I have no receipts but diarised their purchases in my ring binder. Although the purchases date back to 2004 and I have had no luck with the manufacturer, I feel sure the shop will agree I have a case"

c) Go to Corals near Hillsborough and punt £50 on electronic roulette before backing the four favourites each way in the National, making sure the cashier rings up her Head Office first before they accept my bets

d) Purchase new Marc Antonio Number 7 Sheffield Wednesday shirt (note to self, check for holes at time of purchase) at club shop

e) Buy a ferrari

f) form, float and then sell another business by tea-time

All this made me rather late for DTD, I must admit

I arrived at Level 4 and soon chipped up rapidly. Despite my disgust that less reputable players than myself could consider selling shares in any tournament at 1.5 or above, and frankly surprised to see such mistakes in written form in the past week, I consider myself great value and played with the confidence of a young Sir Alan Sugar in his boardroom, or a dashingly handsome Dragon in his den

I soon had 100,000 chips and at the break for tbhe Grand National went outside to silently check this latest t-shirt for holes. All good so far, but then again I only bought it 6 years ago

With blinds of 300-600 75 I sat down after the break as table chip leader

Justin Devonport raised to 1,225

I call, with aplomb. I consider that a player charging a mark-up of 1.5 would not have made this correct play. I did though, for I am mighty, always right and everyone knows it

The button calls and Steve Holden calls in the big blind

2d 9s 5d flop

It is checked to me

Green light says GO GO GO (I learnt that from Gordon Ramsay on one of his cooking programmes where he was chastising those in his kitchen. Legend)

I bet 3,500

The button calls

 Th turn

I check. After all I have nothing

The button bets 6,000

I pass, lulling him into a false sense of security. I will call him out later for not stacking his chips neatly and having an unironed crease in his jeans. Sloppy

In the next hand, I have to post another 75 ante. 75 antes should not be allowed as they unbalance my stack and make it look uneven. I intend to make a forum post about it, whilst reminding players that they should not make the mistake of ever asking for 1.5 in a comp.

I check, trappily. But my opponent would not know this for I am clever

He bets 7,200

Another notch on my burgeoning young entrpreneur of the year belt

In the very next hand, seat 9 opens to 2,000

I bet 2,300 and they all fold

I now have over 125,000 and am a top five stack

Jason Herbert has got the biggest stack he's had in a Deepstack for years with 65,000

raises to 2,000 at 400-800

Ali Mallu calls the button calls and Vinny Calenti calls in the big blind with an arch of an eyebrow, aming him look like a Maltese-Scotch-Hertfordshire Popeye

Js 6c 2s

Check to Herbert who bets 4500, covering his opponents stacks too

They all pass, but not before Calenti enquires of the Scunthorpe one

"First, middle or youngest son", a reference to Herbert allegedly always playing A-J-T-J and K-J due to his childrens initials

Calenti passes anyway and Herbert continues on his merry way towards bubbling.

Ricky Cross gets virtually a full double up through Jason Herbert

Herbert A-K in the cut off Cross 3-3 on the button,

 3d Jh Kh flop

I join the hand with Herbert check calling 20,000 on the  4s turn

and check folding to a shove for the last 25,000 on the  5h river

Ronaldo is the chip leader, just about over 300,000 I would say

Aaron Brunskill, determined to stick it in my eye and why not, up over 200,000

Ian Gascoigne up over 140,000

Rupinder Bedi up over 100,000

Vince Calenti out, a short-stacked vigil over many levels, finally ends with a shove with A-3 over a A-10 open. He's in Nandos. Again.

A really interesting dynamic has developed after a table break

With second chip leader Andrew Tuxworth moved into seat 9....

In seats 1 and 2...Ronaldo and Rupinder

In the immortal words of the Eurythmics, some might say for Rupinder that "sweet dreams are made of this", position on two "old style" big stacks, but will watch to see how it develops

4-6-A flop

check, bet call

A turn

bet, Kinboshi raise, jonnyk sets him in

think, nit fold considered, call

Kinboshi A-2

Jonnyk A-5

An open to 7,000 which Tim Blake calls

Stuart Brownson all in 40,000

Derek Collinson on the button all in 85,000

In the big blind Tommy Bingham is playing 40,000 at 1000-2000

He cogitates and calls in

the two initial playes fold

Brownson AQss

Collinson AKo

Bingham 10-9dd

"Yes, hold" exclaims Bingham

on the table James Tomlin mutters "you need to hit, not hold"

"ahh but I was right, I was live.."

flop 9-J-6

Bingham stiffens his sinews

3 turn

river Q to deflate him, treble Brownson up and felt Bingham who merely wins a tiny side pot

He is out soon after

Richard Young 11,000

Mohammed Ashraq then produces a monster 4 bet to 110,000

Both pass, though Young is not Young by the time his deliberations have finished

While this is happening on a far table, Jason Herbert jumps up and shouts amidst a commotion at his table

It could be the blonde forum brought to life

He has apparently recovered from 4,000 now to 43,000 helped by a river bink with J-10 v A-Q aipf recently to keep his hopes alive

Ian Gascoigne flats in the small blind with A-J

They see a flop of Q-4-3 two spades, with Ian holding one spade

Ian check calls a c-bet

Ace on the turn

Ian bets, called

blank on the river Ian bets again, with top two no flushes possible Ali only calls again to go over 300,000 and very close to the chip lead, behind Terry Plummer

Tom Kugelstadt too, 150,000+

Jason Herbert up to 140,000 from his low of 4,000 earlier

Yinanis Liperis just dobled to over 100,000

Its a table that will give me nightmares later

Herbert
Chinese Frankie
Brunskill

Chattering away, ten to the dozen

All with chips.

Could be a long day tomorrow, though no doubt entertaining to read updates and watch the stream

Brunskill opens to 6,000

Danny Tran 21,000

In the big blind Chinese Frankie 46,500

Brunskill folds

Tran ponders and Frankie starts talking

"I will show you. I don't bluff. Do what you like but I will show you" and variants upon this for several minutes

Att his point then we can assume that Frankie does not have Aces, though I almost asked Jason if FGrankie did have Aces

eventually Tran folds showing 9-9

Frankie shows K-K and confides in his railbirds that he did not want a call. Which I had guessed from the speechplay

He is on the verbose table of moderator doom with Jason and Aaron and is short with under 100,000

Average is 136,000 heading into the final level of the night 2000-4000

thanks stockings

He is going well with over 250,000 so around double average

I can't go up to his table at the moment as I get friendly abuse from my forum firends, current and ex on table moderator doom but all is well in Ronaldo land

Lucky hotel :-) It will get to listen to Aaron having an argument with himself about the Tog rating on the duvet.

Ul George. Horrendous run of cards

On my own side of things. 100k pot against BB who shoves pf with 85, against my 99. Flop 852. Good game.

Next orbit against same BB I open with AJ, he 3 bets and I shove for last 15bb, obviously this time he has QQ.

Top stuff DTD and Rich.

So as play comes to a close, we are bringing just under 40 back

Combine those with the 42 from 1a and 1b and just under 80 return tomorrow for 1pm fighting over the £150,000 Prize pool

Chip counts will be along shortly

Some great characters in the line up for tomorrow, and the bubble set for the first couple of levels, so it should be a fun one. If I can drag my bones out of bed.

exits in the last level are

41    Tim Blake
42    Andrea Gough
43    Stuart Fox
44    Danny Tran
45    James Leighton
46    Matthew Taylor
47    Alan Stearn
48    Mohammed Istakhar Sadiq
49    James Keys
50    Joseph Cockburn
51    Mark Langdale
52    Mark Wilson
53    Henry Whale
54    William Webster

James Keys had AQ v QQ blind on blind, he shoved AQ over a raise to lose a lot of gorund then shoved 22 into 99
