Title: The Poker One by Stanleybet
Post by: celtic on May 28, 2018, 09:46:14 AM
Hi All. I'm playing the above comp this weekend, in Sunny Malta.

It's a €550 buy in with a €300,000 guarantee. Its a 50k stack on a 40 minute clock, so with a bit of luck, we can make level 2 for sure. It's gonna be full of Italians, Sicilians & Scotty77.

I'm planning on selling up to 50% for a maximum of two bullets.

Here are the all important Hendon Mobs: http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=58821 & here :  https://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=372260

I like to try new things with staking, and trail blazed the rather cool in game chip report which looked a bit like this:

Level 1:
50
44
37
70
100
130
0

Its easy to read and you can skip right to the bottom in half a second to see how I have done your money in. This will of course be included in this tournament.

Blonde lightweights AndrewT & Tittybeam were full of praise for this, and feel they got more than they deserved after not investing.

Anyways, my new & innovative staking gimmick is to sell at below face value. I believe that this has never been done before on blonde, so it gives you mad punters the chance to be first to say you won despite losing!

My last thread I done on here produced a trophy. Sadly it was for bubbling rather than winning, but a trophy is a trophy, right?

So, 2 bullets = €1100

Gonna sell at 0.91 so 10% will cost you €101.

XE has €101 at £85.58, so that's how much 10% will cost you.

If I have an unused bullet that money will be returned or punted off in another comp depending what 'investors' want.

If I make a top 3 finish off one bullet, I reserve the right to charge at least 0.92 in the next tournament.

Any questions etc, feel free to ask.

StanleyBet are quite a big operation in Mainland Europe, especially Italy, Germany, Cyprus etc, they are quite a size I believe. The company was born out of what we once knew as Stanley Leisure, but have re-invented themselves in Europe & done pretty well.

The end.

Blinded to 24k. Shoved over a shorter jam with aj. bb felt kings were ahead. And they were. Hit a jack but nowt else.

Reg still open but 25 bigs for a 550 comp doesn't fill me with much hope. I have until the first level tomorrow which will be 1500/3000, so if all 6 of you say go (which I hope yous don't) then I'll go.

Other than that PM bank details for a refund or let me know if yous want to 'invest in similar comp in the near future.

Was due to play Unibet Open. (did message everyone a while back) but seem to have got my dates wrong and booked a week in Scotchland. ( I thought the comp was next week) Can assure you all I didn't book the flights with the stake money... Anyway, couple of huge comps in October here 500/500k and 500/1m so will play one of those, will let everyone know before i play obv. As always if anyone wants a refund then PM deets. Thought it was easier to update here so everyone can see what's going on.

Fried breakfasts here aren't great, and would struggle to recommend a good one that will be anywhere near where you'll be staying. Go for pastizzi's. I think they're pretty incredible and around 40c each, so you can get full for an hour or two on €4 ;)

Chinese I wouldn't eat even if you were paying. Tried 5 or 6 different places here and not been impressed with any.

Indian near the casino is Saffron or Sharma. Both nice, and UK style. Saffron probably edges it for me, but fk it, if you're paying let's try both.

Steak is http://sciaccamalta.com/

I think drinking whilst on a mobility scooter is essential :)

I'm staying at the Intercontinental, which I think is right next to the poker?

As long as it hasn't got cheese in it, I'm in.

Sack the chinese off, and just fire a couple curries home then!

I'm actually up in Glasgow next month, too. First time in 6 years, and by coincidence, it's the same weekend Tikay rolls into town.

Looks like some good grub at the Intercontinental, too.

I'll need it, as it's just a 3 day piss up, and a private £100 game at the Merchant City.

I'll try getting him to the curry, house, but unless they sell Apple Danish Korma, I doubt I've got much hope.

Just sorting out a scooter, and they charge as much to deliver/collect, as they do for the week :D

Remember this? Slowest Grim Ever.

Gonna dust off the rest of the stake money this weekend in a 500 comp being held here. There is no guarantee on the prize pool but 200 online qualifiers from Italy so assuming 1a has decent numbers I'll play 1b on Friday.

Updates in here as always.

Can't remember who is involved but they have the same % they bought at 0.8 around 10 months ago. No refunds i'm afraid :)
