Anybody got an opinion on them and which model to get.

Hi

I have access to ten acres of quality pasture land and am thinking of buying a flock of sheep, probably between 50 - 100, can anybody recommend a breed that is fairly hardy.

I am not looking to make any profit from this venture its more a hobby.

Cheers

So you have won $150k – what’s next

Hypothetical

So you’re a recreational player and you have just taken down a tournament and won $150k.

What do you do next?

1.   Do you bank the money and give up poker
2.   Do you enter much bigger buy in tournaments
3.   Do you start playing $250/500 cash
4.   Do you just continue playing $200/$500 tournaments

Other thoughts

There are millions of diamonds in the world but even the ones classes as flawless have flaws in them.

Of course poker software has flaws in it. Sites freeze, crash, disconnect etc... every day.
Why pick on the RNG first? Probably the least likely bit to have major issues, given the formal audits, and informal audits (player tracking), that it is subject to.

It's unlikely that you will get much favourable response on here, unless you have some decently researched evidence.
That's nothing personal against you, just that most BP posters have played a decent chunk, and have heard most of the theories previously.

Good positive reply - was not picking on RNG - was just trying to emphasise that there is no such thing as perfection anything that involves the human will always have some flaws - i play online and mainly on pokerstars - cant win there but it doesnt put me off playing - anomalies happen

Are you talking solar panels for hot water or photo voltaic for electricity.

If its for your hot water and you have a cylinder - its worth having 2 as they will pay you back over a 10 year period and then your probably freerolling for the next 10 years.

If its photo voltaic for your electricity dont bother as the technology is just not quite right yet, also if you own your own property it can devalue it when you come to sell.

When they brought out the original tarriffs it was a no brainer, but all the tarriffs have been dramatically reduced and will possibly be reduced further after the election

I mean pub/social clubs - the working social club where i play has a hardcore of players who play and cash up at dtd on a regular basis - also just because there social clubs the people that play are a right mixture - from guys who are looking for work to guys that run and own successful businesses - you will find that if your liked there will be guys that will back you because it is fun - we have good players who run bad and are maybe going through a lean time so sometimes we will say were off to xxxxx to play the xxxx and we will pay there entry fee no strings attached.

Also we have a reasonable well known pro who when he is in town may come and play for a six week period and everybody wants his scalp

Ash

Slightly different take to achieve this - join a local poker club that has say a hardcore of 30 players every week who play 3 times a week with at least one £30 buy in weekly tournament, if you end up regularly cashing over say a 3 month period - your chances are that several of the core players may back you at favorable terms.

On my OP is said online poker is not rigged - suggest people read post before they spout that i am saying its rigged, a flaw is a different thing completely

Also all these companies pay for there audits they are not independently audited.

A bit like the banks - who were all audited and then suddenly found that after years of been told they were all financially stable the majority ended up been in dire straits.

Poker Stars have had reliable auditor Cigital test their RNG (Random Number Generator). It passed the test, which seems to have been really detailed and to the point.

they still only test the RNG, NOT the entire play of a hand from shuffle to showdown. they also only run a sample number of hands

All software is flawed

WHERE IS YOUR EVIDENCE YOU ASK

My mate is a test engineer - he is ranked very highly which is why the big global software companies send him there coding before they release it so he can look for flaws and bugs - this goes out to about a 100 other test engineers world wide - they would not need these guys if there was not flaws

Online poker is not rigged

Online poker in my opinion is not rigged – that said it is certainly open to a range of abuses more so than live play.

All computers and computer software can be manipulated if you have the right hardware, software and a high level of coding knowledge.

I also believe that there is a flaw in all software – that’s why we have patches.

Poker software on all sites all probably have in built flaws that are not deliberately written into the code on purpose, but when you have a number of engineers each writing different snippets of code, anomalies happen.

Example

1.   Some sites have a larger percentage of the Ace falling on the river
2.   Some sites have a larger percentage of gut shots making it on the river
3.   Some sites if there is 3 all ins of pairs have larger percentage of the lower pair making trips

Unfortunately this information is not published in a detailed breakdown that is made available to the general poker playing public.

Some players and I include myself cannot win on a particular site irrelevant of what they do, though they can win on other sites.

My example – I could play 30 9 player sngs on pokerstars in a row have the largest chip stack with 5 players left and still not cash.

In fact its fair to say that if I did not play on pokerstars I would be a positive winning online player, but hey I like there site.

Cheers

389  Poker Forums / The Rail / Coaching by Blonde members on: February 21, 2015, 11:46:35 PM
Hi Blondes
Played the Friday dtd £100 day 1 also met up with a couple of blonde members who I will be seeing on Sunday as we made it to day 2.

Whilst having a dead run of cards for 2 levels I spent my time monitoring my tables players and trying to gather some information about them.

Two had been professional for 5 years but had gone back to getting jobs outside of poker, the third professional had just come 3rd in an ept event for a six figure sum the remaining six players including myself were recreational players.

There was a lot of banter from the pros about people that had coached them and the various charges these coaches made and how good/bad they were.

I am interested to know if any there are any Blondes who have made videos or offer coaching guidance for those recreational players who know there never going to make it to the top of the tree but they just want to improve their game and get a better understanding of how they can do this.

I would think there must be a good range of knowledge from both the pro and rec blonde members who could maybe do some short videos explaining how they see the game been played.

For professional poker players to earn a good living they need happy recreational players so I am thinking that say a blonde member/s who have taken that step from rec to pro would make some good constructive vids.
Or perhaps its already out there and maybe it could have its own title page on the forum.

Cheers
