We did ok from this last year, think I predicted the winner and 3rd place if I remember correctly.  Will do a write up in the coming days.

Could be a little trickier this year as they have restocked the venue and the fancied pegs may not have it all their own way.

If they can use the tickets to play normal tourneys then that sux IMO.

May as well just call them ticket tourneys, rather than DTD tourneys.

I was hoping for DTD ticket tourneys to mean just that.....a way to get to play live at the club for very little, and to get more of us going more regular (like me who struggles to make it a lot of times)

The club likes to promote new/non regular people to turn up to the club etc, but it seems you get these foreign based players winning tickets yet doing nothing with regards to being at the club/taking the opportunities away from new/local players.

Thought I'd give the 10 cent ticket tourneys a go seeing as I've had quite a break from poker, only to find Russians, Romanians et al playing these tourneys.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong but what is the purpose of these guys playing in "our" tournaments?

I had hoped to be playing against club regulars who want to play live and all that, only to find the games being spoilt by idiots.

Not being funny, but if these tourneys are for the club, then make them UK only.

Or am I missing something?

These guys have no intention of going to the club, so why do they bother?

Very similar to OP.....I put things off and generally look forward to the next time I'm off work or the next day I can go fishing.

Quite happy to stroll along as work doesn't motivate me, and as long as the kids are happy, that's good enough for me.

If I can sit in the sun for an hour and do nothing....fine by me.

Struggling to get motivated for long enough to play poker at the moment.

Even if you are lucky to get on his back, quick enough to administer enough stabs, and get off again, he will still have you....that skin is mighty hard to stab.

If it was cause, and I knew it was say car accident, then I would absolutely crap myself everytime I got into a car!  What kind of fear would I be living in?  Not good.

But if it was date, then at least I can do as much as I can and tie up all the loose ends beforehand, and hopefully be mentally strong enough in the build up to accept that this is it.

Managed to win the golf pool at the weekend.  Enjoy playing the pools, you really need to score in the 25pt questions to be in with a chance though.

Certainly got me watching golf a bit more on the telly!

I have not read the thread nor do I know the details, but, as a father of 2 young children, I felt a huge wave of emotion when looking at the photo, and what an awesome photo it is too.

I am certainly having a moment of reflection at this present time and my thoughts are with you.

As a rec player, I take out $130k and play some $50/100 tourneys.

Few nice holidays, do up the house and generally live without much worry.

Also wondering if an hour after the last race will be enough time to walk back to train station (crowds etc)....
