wiiiiii thankyou tighty very kind (very good title lol), and thankyou everyone very much appreciated.  I didnt sleep that much last night was still buzzing after a 2 and a half hour drive back from the vegas of the north.  Woke up and find my ugly mug is all over the place!

What a 3 days, altho it didnt look like it was going to be that way after id played the first few events, running kings into aces twice to exit the events after not really doing much wrong through the week.  The main event itself was one of those very few unusual tournaments that run quite smoothly for me, the only time i was all in pre flop for my tournament life before the final that i can remember was when we were already in the money and i found myself all in with 77 against j6 and my 77 holding, he made a reraise on me that i couldnt really fold, button blind scenario.

Id raced into a chip lead early into day one, but the last 2 levels i was struggling, my back really hurt and was just trying to stay focused, i had 3 times the average going into those levels but i just tried to hold onto what id got remembering that the chip leaders on day one were on around 60k.

Day 2 started mad i was in the first 5 pots i had a 40 k swing in a few hands getting back what id lost after spiking a set on nick gibson, after i settled played quite well and late in the day got the break that added an extra 200k onto my stack, a guy raised me with 1010 i reraised all in with kk and he snap called he was up and down after the turn but i managed to hold on.  He had just been involved in a hand that the dealer had mucked his cards and i think it unsettled him but he was so happy to be in the money.  George white from the old luton was there he put in another great performance finishing 12th i think and he gave me a few pointers on the way, nice chap our george.

2nd in chips going into the final i wanted a 5 figure payday, i was 1pt ahead in the rankings now so there was no pressure on that front and i got there late, my heart sunk a bit seeing that i was seated next to andy bradshaw i had made sure the ipod was fully charged but he was very quiet to start with, one player had been knocked out and i decided to stay out of trouble for a couple of places.  Id checked everyones hendon mob profile and read the forums and knew that jack was a big winner this year and was going to be trouble and id played against lee taylor a few times and knew he wasnt scared to get his chips in.  Id played Rob Boon as well hes a lovely bloke even tho hes welsh but suddenly there were 4 of us left and i had about 1mill chips with 3.7 in play and i wasnst thinking deals, i was flowing, in the zone and really fancied it.  Then i looked up and the other 3 said about a deal locking up 42.5k for me which was nearly 2nd place prize money for just over a quarter of the chips in play and i thought about the 20k rankings money and decided to take the deal.  I think the short stack got a very good deal and i got the second best.  Dylan took 35k,  Vinnie took 36k and robert 45k, i ended up with 44k a big trophy a 100 point lead in the rankings and my face in a square on gukpt.com and was delighted.  Vinnie said that the money was life changing for him as did dylan how could you not do a deal after that both top blokes as was robert.  A big thankyou to all of the blackpool staff an event i will remember for a very long time Smiley

couldnt leave without mentioning mas 1 and 2 and their heartwarming messages on the way

mas 1 : u jammy ^%%$£*&$"!
mas 2 : get it won shithead

a certain madhatter aka rockstar said that i was mas on awop which was very unsettling!

All the credit crunch freezeouts and tit tuesdays were worth it now, the national league nearly finished me off with 70day 70day and 56 day stints at grindy tourney poker and i nearly fell out of love with the game but it gave me a shot at the big ones, and after a short break im enjoying playing again and got myself a bloody big flag with tassles on wiiiii

MAS member Miller congratulates you on an almighty achievement in your burgeoning poker career. vwp. I  KNOW HOW MUCH TIME AND EFFORT YOU HAVE PUT INTO THIS LEAGUE AND WISH YOU ALL THE BEST IN TID.

FAO Miss Ding of Dell - my phone don't not work over here. You need some sort of chip thingy in it and mine ain't not got one of them.

Otherwise...binkage alert, binkage alert...

25-odd left in the deepstack and I have just shy of half a million with seven million in play. Fifty US bags up top and plenty of play left. Only 4000-8000 when we go back. No decent $ until the final table though. One time baby, yeeee ha.
good luck chompster, hope Betty aint on your table!

Picking on a poor defenceless lady is deplorable behaviour Chompy
shouldn't be allowed

does James drink fosters?
I hadn't realised

As we dont do Meths on tap in this country,he puts up with the Fosters

We drove past Whipsnade Zoo the other day,it took 3 of us to hold him down and explain that those species are protected in this country

He kept mumbling on about lunch, or something

Hey that Zebra winked at me I swear! Just had a final table for breakfast though so was'nt hunger on my mind.

It looked like they might struggle for 30 runners yesterday but they ended up with 40 of the finest and six paid.
Hats off to Boer Wars for landing win number seven of the year already. Awesome effort sir. To put it into context he's played more donkaments than Alex did when running away with the league last year, won more and is into the fives, whereas Alex's score in the fours saw him clear of the 2009 flotsam. Quality.
Otherwise, they say class is permanent, form is temporary, and Nirvana proved half that statement to be true by chasing home the red-hot bok. Another 12pts to old hoopy, with 6pts awarded to British Gas.
No points anywhere in the £5 rebuy.

WP sir, you are gifted in the writing stakes :-)

Yep, gotta say very well done to James, good bloke, good player - a Boer Clint Eastwood imo.

Nice to play a tourney all the way with a deal never getting mentioned by anyone there.

WD to George Michael - he did good. Was fun sharing a table with Das for a few hours too, we normally tend to play two or three hands together before one of us heads for the exit.
Glen wp last night, I have to say that I cannot remember a more enjoyable final table than the one we shared with Al, Gas, George, Chinese George, Keith and the other lads last night.  Played in a fantastic spirit, credit to each and every one concerned.

A lot of the poker wannabe's would do well to take a leaf out the old boy's book. especially the page about patience. A classy man to go with it!

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, Drainy is back.
Tell Mrs Alien that, although this has never been done in February before, the elders WILL allow belated entry into the league. This is unprecedented stuff. Even I was surprised at the generosity.
Boer Wars, what joined yesterday, is that you James? Sure is! Dont know where the nickname came from tho. Rockstar informed me that this is what I am to be known as....

Not buying it until yerself and Prewy kiss and make up - caught on film obv.

There's a new thread, started by Aleplayprance, on The Rail featuring this footage Laxie.
