wiiiiii thankyou tighty very kind (very good title lol), and thankyou everyone very much appreciated. I didnt sleep that much last night was still buzzing after a 2 and a half hour drive back from the vegas of the north. Woke up and find my ugly mug is all over the place!
What a 3 days, altho it didnt look like it was going to be that way after id played the first few events, running kings into aces twice to exit the events after not really doing much wrong through the week. The main event itself was one of those very few unusual tournaments that run quite smoothly for me, the only time i was all in pre flop for my tournament life before the final that i can remember was when we were already in the money and i found myself all in with 77 against j6 and my 77 holding, he made a reraise on me that i couldnt really fold, button blind scenario.
Id raced into a chip lead early into day one, but the last 2 levels i was struggling, my back really hurt and was just trying to stay focused, i had 3 times the average going into those levels but i just tried to hold onto what id got remembering that the chip leaders on day one were on around 60k.
Day 2 started mad i was in the first 5 pots i had a 40 k swing in a few hands getting back what id lost after spiking a set on nick gibson, after i settled played quite well and late in the day got the break that added an extra 200k onto my stack, a guy raised me with 1010 i reraised all in with kk and he snap called he was up and down after the turn but i managed to hold on. He had just been involved in a hand that the dealer had mucked his cards and i think it unsettled him but he was so happy to be in the money. George white from the old luton was there he put in another great performance finishing 12th i think and he gave me a few pointers on the way, nice chap our george.
2nd in chips going into the final i wanted a 5 figure payday, i was 1pt ahead in the rankings now so there was no pressure on that front and i got there late, my heart sunk a bit seeing that i was seated next to andy bradshaw i had made sure the ipod was fully charged but he was very quiet to start with, one player had been knocked out and i decided to stay out of trouble for a couple of places. Id checked everyones hendon mob profile and read the forums and knew that jack was a big winner this year and was going to be trouble and id played against lee taylor a few times and knew he wasnt scared to get his chips in. Id played Rob Boon as well hes a lovely bloke even tho hes welsh but suddenly there were 4 of us left and i had about 1mill chips with 3.7 in play and i wasnst thinking deals, i was flowing, in the zone and really fancied it. Then i looked up and the other 3 said about a deal locking up 42.5k for me which was nearly 2nd place prize money for just over a quarter of the chips in play and i thought about the 20k rankings money and decided to take the deal. I think the short stack got a very good deal and i got the second best. Dylan took 35k, Vinnie took 36k and robert 45k, i ended up with 44k a big trophy a 100 point lead in the rankings and my face in a square on gukpt.com and was delighted. Vinnie said that the money was life changing for him as did dylan how could you not do a deal after that both top blokes as was robert. A big thankyou to all of the blackpool staff an event i will remember for a very long time
couldnt leave without mentioning mas 1 and 2 and their heartwarming messages on the way

a certain madhatter aka rockstar said that i was mas on awop which was very unsettling!
All the credit crunch freezeouts and tit tuesdays were worth it now, the national league nearly finished me off with 70day 70day and 56 day stints at grindy tourney poker and i nearly fell out of love with the game but it gave me a shot at the big ones, and after a short break im enjoying playing again and got myself a bloody big flag with tassles on wiiiii
