I think you assumption that he wouldn't lead here with AA is the most speculative part of this hand.

As played, he bet so small I would feel far too nitty to do anything other than go all in
9  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Few PLO hands... on: August 23, 2010, 10:05:27 AM
i thought he may have peeled oop with shit aces because he cant get much of his stack in, knows we are both gonna come along if he does 4 bet and shit aces is tough to play oop 3 ways. However, i am never folding here. This is what happened...

#1 I definitely agree with your line

#2 Re-popping flop is fine and definitely my standard line but if you are going to flat, then you should DEFINITELY be getting all the money in on the turn as you have so much equity vs everything but sets and are miles ahead of other 79s. I assumed by flatting you were hoping for a non straight card to hit rather than to see if your 2 pair was actually good.

If you are planning on calling the turn then realise that it doesn't matter what the river is your decision will always be the same (unless you hit a 9 of course). I do think bluffs are possible and they will give up on the river which makes calling the turn feel mandatory but it definitely isn't, also KTQJ type hands are in his range here but that hand could also bluff the river with the K blocker because he knows you can't call the river without at least K9. Has he been check/raising flops light/with air or double barrell bluffing a lot?

FWIW I do like checking back the flop some of the time planning to call/call in those instances because it will build you a solid rep for checking back marginal hands later on. Checking back too often though will make it impossible to get max value when you do have KK here though.

Why is everyone trying to fold pre flop? It was only a single raised pot in a really deep game.

WP up to river, you are getting mega odds and I don't think the random river lead is a genuine hand anywhere near as much as people seem to think. I wouldn't count on AK/AQ ever getting folded on the river if it got checked to you though and would just give up on the river vs this player description.

Folding pre at any point would be terrible, I would actually just 3bet the first raise but as played after getting 3bet just flat because you're hitting a set 1/4 times and a flush draw often enough also to get it in on the flop.

But shipping and binking works too!
14  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: 0.5/1 PLO Hand on: July 28, 2010, 07:07:12 PM
If UTG wasn't the value at the table I would just fold pre flop, but with that to consider calling is OK, but 3betting to $6 would be preferable, get the pot HU with the guy you want to be playing. As played call the 3bet pre and snap all in on the flop.
15  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: PLO .5/1 - How do i play this??? on: July 28, 2010, 07:00:54 PM
Bet more on the flop, flat the raise. Fold the turn.
