Golokin has been one of my favourite boxer over the last 10 year, however I fear this fight is one too many. I expect Canelo to target his body massively and he’ll probably stop him this time. I hope I’m wrong 😑

Joshua still looks like a young man who is trying to please everyone around him. It's odd to see his opponent as the one with the swagger.

Can’t wait for AJ v Usyk. I normally have have firm opinions but I’m not sure about this one. Heart says AJ but head not so sure.
One thing I am confident about is it’s not going the distance. Best bet is to back both to win by KO.

Fight not to go the distance is legit. By the end of the day every preview is likely to tip Usyk by KO.

Yes agree, Usyk looks mega confident, AJ not so much however…
I rewatched the first fight. Joshua was so negative. He actually had some success but didn’t follow it up. I do like McCracken but I thought his instructions to AJ were poor. He was trying to be too calm, almost as though he was thinking that there’s no way the judges will go against Joshua. At the later stages of the fight AJ probably thought he was winning. McCracken should have been bollocking him and saying you need to win these last few rounds.
I’m hoping his new trainer Garcia, is as good as they say he is and he has AJ with a new mindset and even given him an extra gear. I think he can turn it around if he goes for it from the first bell. If you look at the first fight AJ had some good success in rounds 5,6 & 8. He didn’t follow it through though. Once he hurts Usyk he must continue and not sit back like he did last time. Fair play to Usyk, he did rally each time Joshua had success. This time AJ must go all out if he gets on top and not worry about his own suspect chin, just go for it. Yes easier said than done I know.
So against the general consensus I’m going for AJ by KO🙈

Warne gone at 52.   The goat of test match bowlers for me.

Great bowler, top personality. Even against us, couldn’t help but love him. You could imagine after a hard fought test match, him n Botham, out on the town together giving it large. Top man. Second best spinner of all time. RIP

And he probably still easily earns £300k a year now with sky and other after dinner gigs maybe £500k.   Even if he has blown the lot he can still start again and just do what normal people do.   His house would be paid off in 10 years.   Hard to feel too sorry for him.
I feel sorry for him. He comes over as a nice but vulnerable and fragile bloke. He may earn £500k a year but that’s no good if he’s blowing £600k. As for paying off a house in 10 years, I think he’d struggle to get a mortgage. He’d need to put 25% down and like he said himself, he was saving up for a deposit but instead of giving the deposit to Halifax he gave it to William Hill!
You don’t break down in tears on TV so often as he does unless you have real demons. Also, 3 wife and 8 kids, yes that’s probably because the first two couldn’t  put up with his degenerate behaviour. The third may go the same way.
I hope he does sort himself out.

Yes fair play Arb, you are the literate master. I didn’t do much schooling, I just watched boxing.
I remember a few years back meeting you in DTD. You was pissed and being a right twat,. I, unlike most of the players at the table, thought you was ok (I like a drink myself) so much as I even  part staked you later in an on-line tourney. Looks likes my judgement was wrong again!!

I think you’ve have missed the point arbboy, I said  he fought alright. Point is pre fight he gave it the   big’un and said he was  prepared to say goodbye to his kids and would die to win. He ff didn’t. Quit on his stool. I said pre fight he wouldn’t do as well as Callum Smith and I was proved right, mug hey?
He’s a horrible human being. Glad he got what he deserved.
Ps I,m no ff mug. Been watching boxing  all my life, went to all the fights in the day’ Benn, Eubanks, Bruno, Sibbo etc. I ff know what I,m talking about.

In fairness I thought Bullshit did ok until the 8th round, however he  did say pre fight he was “prepared to die”. I think he forgot to add “unless I get a poorly eye” ! He didn’t object much to his corner pulling him out🤔. Don’t get me wrong it was probably a serious injury but after all his pre fight shit it’s made him look the dick I thought he was.

It’s not exactly a fancy price but 1/4 Canelo on the machine is a great bet. As is the 1/7 on him not being knocked down. If GGG, Kovalev or Smith can’t make a dent in him BJS certainly isn’t.

I normally always  support British fighters aboard however BJS seems a bit of a nob. Doesn’t have many endearing qualities. I really like Canelo, he’s quality and lives up to his hype. I expect him to beat him bullshit easier than he did Smith.

MJ for me is the clear GOAT and i don't think Lebron is the clear cut second everyone likes to make out.  He probably is and will be once he has retired but he isn't in the same league as MJ when it comes to closing games out.

Pippen - one of the most underrated players in history for me.   His game would have been even more deadly in the modern era because of his flexibility to defend all five positions.  One of the greatest all round defenders the game has ever seen.  Great ball handler for his height in that era which was rare and could score in a number of different ways.   The perfect foil for MJ to do all the dirty work defensively for him on the other teams best player.   MJ was still an all time great defender in his own right but could save his energy so many games for the offensive end where no one could stop him.

Rodman - Rodman is a true one off in NBA history.  Arguably the best rebounder ever pound for pound.  6'8' 230lbs in that ultra physical big men era to constantly lead the league in rebounds by the margins he did was incredible.   Like pippen also an all time top 10 defender who could and did guard players of all positions.  People forget Rodman was a key part of the physical Pistons side in 1988-90 that stopped a young MJ in his tracks from reaching the finals.
Rodman literally had zero offense though and actually detested that side of the game.

Thanks mate, it looks that way to me ‘as a novice’. I didn’t realise how skilful these guys where. Amazing athletes.

Between the three of them you had one of the most versatile and effective defensive units ever built.  With the greatest scorer in history at the other end they were truly upstoppable.

I wasn't Kobe's biggest fan but obviously its a terrible event that has happened.   I am truly amazed at the media response in the UK to a sportsman that surely at least 90% of the UK population will have never have heard of and a sport 90%+ of the population have never watched as the BBC coverage showed albeit somewhat embarrassing.   IMO he wasn't even the best player on the Lakers team that he won the majority of his titles on and his ego because of wanting to be the main man caused him and Shaq to split at their peaks after winning three straight titles.  There are other things about him that i wasn't a fan of as well but now probably isn't the time or place.   One thing you couldn't question was his drive and professionalism on the court and conditioning wise and getting every ounce of talent out of his body and mind.  For that he was as good as anyone in NBA history.  I just don't have him as high up the all time list of NBA players as a lot of Kobe fan boys do.  Social media/ego driven darling for me at the very top level.  He was the Ronaldo of the NBA whilst Tim Duncan in the same era was the Messi type.  If Tim Duncan had died in the same crash i doubt whether it would even have made the news in the UK.

Who is Tim Duncan i hear 99% of you ask?   The ultimate GIQ sportsman who on paper had a very similar career to Kobe in so many ways.  Five NBA titles (he was the undisputed best player on the team for at least 4 of them and they went 1.01 in running to win a sixth title but for a miracle 3 pointer from Ray Allen one year to give Lebron one of his titles), one club for life 19 seasons, first ballot hall of famer.  Probably the best player to ever play his position.  Selfless.  Always about the team and winning without a zero ounce of the me me me attitude most modern days sports superstars have.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Duncan  Just in case you are interested in the GIQ player of Kobe's generation.

Arbboy, I,m currently watching The Last Dance on Netflix. I don’t know a lot about NBA but I’m enjoying the series. Is Jordan the GOAT? How good were Pippen and Rodman?
