1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Country & Western Song Titles on: October 12, 2005, 02:52:30 PM

I was always told one thing about country music......

Never ever erer play a tape of a sad song, describing your wife has left ya, your dog has died, your kids have robbed ya, and your guitar wont tune, never play these type on a auto reverse tape deck, or you'll regret it, coz ya get em all back again...... Sorry, i will do less of that....
2  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: another O/T - spelling on: October 12, 2005, 05:23:32 AM

This is an interesting thread, but i am sure most of us have a view on it one way or another. I was a bad lad at school, in the sense that i didnt go. We as a family< in my school days> moved home from 1 town to another to another to another to another, infact 17 schools i have been to, because my old man had an aerospace contract or somthing like that, and we went all over the place. Now my point is, i consider myself to be pretty well educated to the point that i can hold a conversation about most things i know a little bit about, i am confident for things like interviews, i spell better than most, i have a good understanding of long and unusual words and my grammer is not too bad. Now my point is.we have various spellings of words that sound phoenetically the same for a variaty or reasons, and its not the most thought of reason people think of, which is accent, it is infact because we speak a language consisting of many language adaption, mostly latin. I dont know too much latin, but if you study a common word, trace it to the root, you will see the translation is more often than not, latin based. Therefor we muct spell our words differently so not to confuse 2 similer sounding words with the same meaning. I hope this makes sense.

One good way to stay awake, and not be all lathargic is do somthing that requires concentration, such as mending a bust radio, < that was a mere example >, or write a poem if ya poetic or a lyrical peice of ya musical...... or find the nearest dodgy looking geezer on a street corner to get ya some substances that i could only imagine about... not my cuppa but everyone to there own.
Failing all this, write out a few funny jokes and post em on the forum? I dunno, ....... hope this helps.

Ermm, guys, i dont know quite what to say, as most of its been said allready, but i am loving the idea of actually playing a few games with you guys in this free role, but registering is impossible. It says, this tournament is restricted, etc etc etc, so i called on line help and support, and hafter i explained everything, he said, and i quote....you need to have invitational access, or be in the group organising it. <close quote> so i laughed, and said to re-read what i just typed, then he said, neverwin <txt summit or another> and said he organised it, but thats just a lame excuse for them.  I really wanna be part of this on friday, might be a good laugh, what should i do?

The correct answer for the question, ..... what was the name of the very 1st song in the uk top 40 of 1980, was...............................................................

                       The Pretenders with the song....
                           Brass in pocket.

But.....for the additional point, who did they beat off the top spot, and what was the name of the song, which of course, was the very last top uk 40 number 1, of the 1970's?

                                Answer will be revealed tomorrow..

11  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: A Blonde Weekend Away? on: September 26, 2005, 12:22:14 AM

Good old get togethers are always fun, i do it 2 times a year with a load of peeps from an online role playing game.

And if you book them, they will come, i think thats what ya said, if i am not mistaken it was Waynes World 2.

12  Poker Forums / The Rail / Abusive players.... on: September 25, 2005, 07:59:33 PM

Now then people, i just thought i would ask a bit of advice as what's the best procedure to deal with abusive and probably quite good players. Basically i have been hammering the freeroles since really startin to play poker, and although i have come close to finishing 1st a few times, my best position was last night, when i was 73rd out of 6000+ people, which is quite respectable i think. Anyway, i called some fella on a 1200 chip deal, and all i had was a 5 7 suited, but i had 90,000+ chips, so i could afford to gamble a bit, flop came out to give me a 6 8 9 suited, so i had straight flush right, then an ace popped up from the turn, and an ace from the river, he went all in, i called his 60,000 bet, and he got all abusive saying stiff like, your a tw** for betting with a 57, etc etc, so all i said was, and i quote " m8, if all hands were rulebook and textbook played, no one would win through skill, as everyone would play only good cards," he replied " that wernt skill, it was F***ing stupid, and i like to tell players how stupid they are when they cannot play. So naturally i said summit like, give it up m8, bad beats happen, gg tho, to which he said F**k off, so i emailed the site to report his mannerisms,.
Mypoint is, did i do the right thing?
