Hi all. Thought I should reply to this post as I am the bearded Geordie refered to and I am not ashamed to be named as I have done nothing wrong. I had asked a friend of mine to to but four people into the main event at Newcastle the night before with some money he had on him belonging to myself. I had no reason to believe that this had not been done until I arrived at the casino on th night of the first game. Once it was established that they had not been bought in the money was returned.
I would like to point out that the total time lapse between being given the money and returning it was approximately 20 minutes. Also, the actual people involoved had no problem with this what so ever after speaking to them to explain what had happened and returning their money, as it was clear there had been a mistake. Instead of obtaining the facts and resolving the issue in a civil manner, the person making the acusations thought it would be best to shout and threaten me in front of the rest of the casino and has now decided to also slander me to the rest of the poker world.
Lastly, it seems obvious to all apart from Vinni that if you are wanting to rip someone off in the way that he is suggesting, it is not a sensible idea to turn up at the casino where the people who have given you the money will be only 20 minutes after they give it to you - especially as it will be very obvious at some point whether people are registered or not.
I have no problem admiting that my personal cash flow has seen better days as most of my friends know. I have borrowed money, and lent money regularly on the poker circuit as most people do but I am not aware of anyone in Newcastle or elsewhere that would question my integrity - if I am wrong in this then I am happy to speak to anyone who thinks otherwise.
This is the only post I will send on this matter as I do not intend to engage in any sort of slanging match. I hope this clarifies the situation. If anyone would like to speak to me about this personally then I will be happy to reply.
Thanks,
George
