9  Poker Forums / The Rail / Advice on disconnections plse? on: December 08, 2005, 09:36:39 AM
I am just wondering what my rights are if any as i was playing a $20 six pack on will hills and i got disconnected after the very 1st hand,i was unable to reconnect to the server for about 10 mins, when i did manage to get back in the game their was myself(the short stack) and 2 other players, anyway i`m being patient waiting for a hand with approx 600 in chips and am lucky enough to hit a str8 with a player betting into me,i then get disconnected again, once again i reconnect and get back in the game, now i have 350 in chips,3 all ins and i knock out 1 player so i`m in the money and heads up,i then get disconnected again but this time by the time i get back the game is over,i know i cant say i would have gone on to win it but i would at least like to have had the chance, thats what we pay are buy ins for is it not?anyway getting back to the point has anyone else had a similar experience and is it worth complaining about to the people at will hills or does this kind of thing happen all the time and just fall on deaf ears?Huh? Any help in this matter will be appreciated
10  Poker Forums / The Rail / To go with the flow or throw? on: October 01, 2005, 10:16:18 PM
Hello again to one and all,i would just like to hear a few different opinions on the subject of hitting a run of cards(online) as i have often found that as soon as i don`t go with them, they come back to haunt me(once to often),i only ask as  i`m talking about calling with cards i wouldn`t normally run with but more often than not it has turned out that i would have won the hand,i know i sound like i could possibly answer my own question. i feel i`ve got to the point where i think its to your advantage to not be predictable and not play premium hands all the time as other players don`t know what your holdiing, anyway i just wondered if i`m alone to get this feeling from online poker or is does it seem to go that way in live games too?

Is tightend walking a financial tightrope?
12  Poker Forums / The Rail / Many thanks for advice. on: September 29, 2005, 09:47:27 AM
Just wanted to say thanks to all who replied and said welcome, played in a mtt on will hills and thought i would give it a try and change my style, glad to say i made the final table, came in at 10th,made 1 bad move due to excess alcohol which killed my stack of 50k,i wasn`t to worried as i had won a sattelite to the 10k and was looking forward to it with my new found confidence.First hand i`m big blind, someone raises 60,sb calls as do i with my 88,flop is kkj, raiser bets 100 which i call,8 comes on the turn, raiser goes all in which i more than gladly call, turns out my boat capsized to his cruise liner,he was holding kj,funny how poker continues to be a love hate relationship, anway thanks again.
13  Poker Forums / The Rail / How loose not to lose? on: September 28, 2005, 02:41:32 PM
I`ve noticed that i seem to do well in mtt but only up to a point because i am a tight player,i`ve read a few tips from pro`s etc and they explain my situation down to a t,i`m playing to tight and being eaten away with the blinds, they recommend that you should play looser the further into a tourney if you are out to make the final table, what exactly does playing loose mean?Does it mean become a calling station and start paying to see flops or raising with weak hands and taking advantage of the fear factor when close to the ££££££$$$$$$?
