England have a great chance of winning, the best for ages. i just hope our key players stay fit and perform. If Robinson plays well, Terry outstanding and if Stevie G keeps up his form thoughtout the entire tournament then we have a great chance.
Too much emphasis is being put on Rooney and Walcott, i'm gutted for Wayne, he is exceptional but are we a one man team??? If Ronaldinho get injured do you think Brazil could cope?? Of course so why cant England?? We have better players IMO.
It'll be down to the luck on the day against the bigger teams, if we have that (because in euro 2004 we had none) England will be world champs!
Prediction: England will beat Argentina in the Final with Gerrard scoring the winner! You heard it here first

The wage cap idea is good in theory, but i believe its unpractical in football and i'll explain why.
For one there are multiple divisions, unlike the NFL (classic salary cap example) where there is only one league and therefore easy to place everyone on a level playing field but what happens to the teams relegated?? would they have to then comply with the salary cap in the first division?? would they have to trade (yes trade, the transfer system as we know it would have to be dissolved) their star players to get below the cap?? and what if there star player didnt want to leave, what happens then??
I'm not a supporter of a small team, i am a liverpool fan, so i have no idea whats its like struggling against relegation or having financial problems like other smaller clubs (no offence intended). But with Chelsea being above the rest at the moment, when we beat them (i.e. Champions League and F.A cup) it makes the win all the sweeter!!! I can imagine that when smaller team beat us, or man u, arsenal or chelsea they get the same satisfaction and i wouldn't like that to change.
Many arguements there are (sorry for being yoda) both for and against the salary cap, but personally i wouldn't like one!

I would say that they are impossible to compare with each other. The reason why is that Zidane is now just a world cup away from retirement and ronaldinho hasn't reached his peak yet.
Once ronaldinho has retired we could then compare the two players but not now,
Remember Zidane only became a household name when he got transfered to Juventus (from Bordeaux if i'm not mistaken) and he was 26 at the time. Ronaldinho is 24 and is already a 2 time world player of the year.
However if i had to pick, i would pick......................Steven Gerrard!!!!!!

Yeah that maybe, but that was in a different Chelsea Team, with a different mentality. Even if mourniho has dropped him back he still isnt scoring enough, he has been injured aswell i believe??? anyway if he leaves, i think it may take him a while to get the goalscoring touch back, thats if he gets it back at all. (not everyone is as good as Robbie!!!!) lol

I have heard in one paper that Shevchenko is going to Chelsea for Crespo and £30 million.
Even by Chelsea standards that is idiotic! Crespo may not have produced his best form in England but he scored more goals in Italy than Shevchenko and is IMO a better finisher.
Shev is now what 29-30??? coming into the twlight of his career but they still want to pay £30m???
Ballack on the other hand is a terrific player who deserves all the praise, can be lazy at times but can also produce magic.
Gudjohnson may leave Chelsea for Blackburn I heard a few weeks ago, He is a good player but doesn't score enough goals.

I must say as much of a die hard red that i am, West Ham produced a great display on saturday. Credit should not only go to the mangement and players for that, but also to the fans.
Liverpool were sloppy for the most part of the game, i think Alonso gave the ball away more times in the final than he did in the whole season!! But nevertheless the team showed pride, passion and heart and that is exactly what liverpool football club is all about!
I was so proud of the team back in Istanbul last year and just as proud on saturday, Rafa has got us playing good football, and has given the team a belief that is unparalleled!
More success is destined for this team let me tell you!!!

Regardless of the rest of the hand (you fish!) I would call here.
If he has trips good luck to him and well played. I doubt he has AK.
If he has a straight shoot yourself.

Oh and Aaron (the Baron) ...get your coaches to scout scandanavia. It was written before the programmers realised that all young scandanavians were deemed to become poker players as opposed to footballers. You can build a team around the young scandies...and look out for Bokoyoko or something similar from the Ivory Coast....he really is the nuts in an attacking midfield role...has it really been 4 years ?
Imbrahim Bakayoko? Looks useful. Cheers. Cant believe this thread is still going!
