Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: UK Card Room

I think I may help you - all you really need is a time traveling machine and year 2005... GL I apologise if I'm posting something that has been posted numerous time before
I'm from West Yorkshire and myself and a friend would like to look at investing in a Card Room
Nothing shoddy, just classy and well finished(quality tables, nicely weighted chips, table service etc etc)
looking at about 3 tables and a small bar (no food) but takeaway available, house to take a rake, chips in exchange for cash
I have spoken to my local council and they have said that I would need a "small casino" license as well as a "premises license" for alcohol
The other set back is that my town hasn't issued one of these yet...... there's always a first!
My question is does anyone have any experience or knowledge of how I may get around this or how I can get games going without a licence?
Appreciate all the help in advance, again apologise for posting a subject that may have been asked before

OK I've sorted most of my EPL spread bets for the season. Thought I would share what they are and we'll see how I do over the season. I'd like to think I've taken the right side of the lines, but am not delusional that I'm a sports betting fiend and have made a bunch of sharky bets. I'm paying any juice there is for a season long sweat which I know I'll love. Won't say amounts but will give you an idea of where I've gone big.
Teams bought (taken overs)
Middlesborough 39.5 points: 4 units (per point) Stoke 45.5 points: 2 units Spurs 67.5 points: 1 unit West Ham 55 points: 1 unit
Teams sold (taken unders)
Man City 75.5 points: 3 units Leicester 54.5 points: 3 units
Other bets:
Chelsea vs Arsenal 2 units per point. Chelsea top 4 at 8/13: 25 units.
Gone huge on Chelsea. The top 4 bet is with a guy that I had credit with and wanted to gamble with rather than cash out. It's my biggest ever sports bet. Come on team Kante/Conte!
Excluding both unders I everything looks good. Especially Chelsea's bet, as if me exclude this nonsense about Man U challenging for title (why? Because of 35 year old striker? Still no defence, still no Pogba...). Chelsea's Top 4 looks like steal. No Man City will be very close to 76 points... But Leicester... Well They definitely wont win, but I think this bet will destroy all other profits for you... 55 points is probably 9th or 10th place... I think Leicester will do better than that, there is really no reason why they shouldn't do... That's is the point (besides the fact that last season overall has been exception rather than normality). Who is in ManUtd defense? Young promising ones from last season ARE ON SALE. Can we really expect defence of Smalling, Blind, Rojo and.. ? Darmianni? to really challenge for title? Ok they bought Bailey, but cannot see him being some kind of wonder... Point is in EVERY club before Mourinho has pretty good defences... Carvalho, Terry, A.Cole, Ivanovic, Pepe, Varane, Marcelo, Lucio, Chivu... In DM Cambiasso, Makelele etc etc etc. Cannot see a single player of that calibre in Man Utd at the moment. Therefore to call them close 2nd favourites for title is bigger bookies mistake than Leicester had been last year. Period.

Well sounds a bit draconian, but to be fair people who dont cheat have nothing to hide. Now small question is how many people do not cheat in some way? And answer probably could be very surprising...
Overall long time overdue...

Hi,
Are those games not tracked or am I missing the trick how to look for data?
And another quesiton for those with experience in multitabling...
Without additional software and considering that you have I believe 10 secs to act in hyper stt environment, how many tables do you think it is possible to play at the same time? And then multitabling to the max, how long do you reckon you can do that for without losing concentration etc?
Thanks for answers

Can't see it anywhere on the microsite, how many levels are played on the day 1's?
simon's answer in most events its 8 levels I know I am repeating myself, but here we go... Can you ask Simon (or whoever is in charge) are they: A. Finally gonna publish GTD sats schedule, especially for week starting 26/10/2015? (Spoke probably with most people including Simon as early as about month ago and still nothing) or B. Are they gonna do traditional bit of crying if/then GTD hasnt been met about how not supportive poker players are, how they players do not plan anything etc. Don't want to be very sarcastic here, but organizing such scale event not to have sats schedule until last second is beyond ridiculous.

Like most forms of poker then?
much more so than others i think, if you're a ledge at online MTT, you can stay at home and play as many online MTTs as you can fit on your screen, the best live cash player no good if there are no live cash games to play! imo, it's a vital skill for anyone who considers themselves as "pro" or plays live cash primarily for the money to try and build games and entertain everyone in those games so they can mitigate that problem. obviously...but you cant magic games out of nowhere... if a tree falls in the woods and no-one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? if there is the most social, fun guy in the world sat playing a poker game, but there is no-one there to play with him, is he playing a game at all? Unless you're making sarcastic reference to skalies FB posts, in which case, No, because sound is defined as vibrations travelling through the air which then enter ear, if there's noone there to hear it then there's no ear for the sound to enter And actually that one wasn't a sarcastic reference to Skalie, I got bored of doing that after the sitter you left me with on the PHA :p I mean, obviously you can't magic games out of nowhere, but a good entertainer can turn a shit game into a good one and a make people come back and wanna play with them. Think the notts games used to be a good example of an environment where the regs didn't do much to keep the punters in the club, although now with Will and Skalie it seems there just isn't an issue there anymore. Spot on... Also I think lack of 5-6 dudes from let's call it 'Team Bla bla bla' not sitting on the same table each night also helps... And also there was complete denial form 'Team Bla bla bla' over the time of any collusion etc, but strange thing is as soon as those great games for 'Team Bla Bla Bla' ended, few of those participants results changed dramatically, Didn't they? I think regs/semi regs understand what I am on about here... Fact is DTD for whatever reason indirectly killed cash games in Notts over the years. From the point I made above, to closing club at 3am then 4 full tables running. Finally now it looks somebody woke up and try to reverse damage. Question is isn't it too late? Let's face it, there won't be another Moneymaker coming from nowhere tomorrow, next week or in fact amost likely any time in the future

Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Re-Entry and Late Reg - Your Views please?

HI Rob
I have not read many replies on here. I wanted to write my post individually. Id happily travel the 4hr round trip to play at DTD at least once a week. I don't. Dusk till Dawn offers the best playing experience I know. Iv got the time and money to play at least once a week but I don't. Here are my reasons......in no particular order
1) I STRONGLY disagree with the apportioning of the prizepool. I disagree with it on a few levels. a) I think the payout structure is too top heavy. I also believe in paying only 10% of the field. In a multi entry tournament(which is what most are) this should be 10% of unique entries. Min cashing should start at 3 x buy-in and work upwards. For the Pokerfest Mini Live that's just finished 1st got 21000 and 9th got 1050. that's a big difference. too big. the final 9 were playing for aprox 55k. a payout structure for the final 9 like this would have been much fairer in my opinion. 9th 3% 8th 4% 7th 5% 6th 6% 5th 8% 4th 10% 3rd 15% 2nd 20% 1st 29%. These are percentages of the remaining prizepool by the way b) If there is a tournament that costs £100 to enter and is guaranteed at 50K and you get 600runners I do not think its fair to take money out of the prizepool and allocate it as seats into your next big game. the prizepool of 60K should be paid out as cash prizes. if on the other hand you only got 400 runners and DTD has to add 10k then by all means add the 10k in as seats into your next big game. its your money and its fair enough.
the way I see it is that we pay dtd reg fee for the purpose of hosting it. dtd also benefit when we spend money in the casino area and buy food and drink. dtd provide guarantees to get more players through your door. that's the marketing strategy. any money in the prizepool generated by entries of players is THE PLAYERS MONEY, unless the tournament fails to hit guarantee.
as for the re-entry and late reg questions I think a balanced approach works best. 1 re-entry per day. imagine travelling 2hrs and getting busted early. not much fun. having the ability to try again ONCE is fair and doesn't really give anyone with deep pockets too much of an edge. late reg should be kept to the 1st 2hrs of play. 2hrs is more than enough lee way for motorway mishaps etc. for players who don't like to play the first few levels there are other options. buy in in advance. your stack is live from the get go. turn up anytime you want but your stack will get blinded out.
Thanks for your feedback. Few Points. 1. Min Cash - very hard to get to min cash X 3 and pay the big 1st prize players demand, I dont know anywhere that pays min cash x 3 I recently played the goliath. I disagreed with their payout structure and spent a lot of time and effort on working out a payout model I thought was better which I forwarded to them. I'm happy to email that spread sheet to you if you would like to see it. also the fact that no-where else does it shouldn't qualify it as a bad idea. 2. I agree hat 10% of entries is fine for a re-entry tournamant, we paid 10% of unqiue entries once and players went crazy at Simon I think the truth is its impossible to please everyone. all my suggestions were my personal thoughts on the matter. some would agree and some wouldnt3. In completely disagree with you that it's not fair to include seats in prizepools, when it clearly advertised that way, players have a choice before they enter, whether we continue with that I am not sure, perhaps we should so all seats online. I can tell you players are 50:50 on this, we have ran comps without seats on prizepool and we get asked to add them back. I would say we have added £500,000 of free seats in 2015, we can GTE less with no seats, no big deal to me. yes I know it is clearly advertised. that's not disputed. neither am I under the illusion that all guarantees are met. I think I was very clear and specific that if guarantees are not met it is fair to add the money in as seats into future games but only in this instance. as you say, its advertised and players have a choice. I choose to not play often/much because of this. the question is how many others feel similarly to me? 4.This myth about tournament players spending money on casino, food and drink, is a myth. Tournament players have the lowest average spend per head of all DTD customers except when we do major festivals - We lose money on every tournament players less than £330 buy-in, i.e, DTD, and the Major festival players are subsiding these players. This is something I have been happy to do for years despite the moaning I get. KTF Rob I have read about the recent changes, and whilst its a step in the right direction, for me personally, the changes affect the things I care the least about. the main things I do care about are as yet still not to my liking. Fully agree with this guy. And especially about added seats. Now I know DTD argument about GTDs etc. My sulution for that is simple: You are the business. If you cannot reach GTDs - don't offer them as big. I really doubt you will have significant difference in numbers if you advertise 850k gtd instead of 1million gtd. This added seats thing is absolutely ridiculous. In smaller comps it takes sometimes more than 20% of the prize pool! Payout structure: well isn't it a time to start announcing payout structure before 'shuffle up and deal'? In other words it is very simple to have table with if you get X entrants, payouts will be ABCD. Not a rocket science at all. As know min cashes are terrible, and as somebody noticed 20k difference between 1st and 9th in pokerfest is just laughable. Overall changes are towards good direction but it looks too litle too late... I think Rob's reason were mentioned many times before original introduction of those decisions to allow 'rebuy whatever amount of times' by many people including myself. I guess then more or less poker economy starts subtracting then people in charge of it starts thinking. But as I say sounds a bit too litle too late, as we hardly gonna have another Moneymaker moment anytime soon (or more like ever)....

Do\you\know what is actual CASH \gtd on wpt500?
Also are there any plans to hold big gtd live sats thu/fri before start of live day 1s at dtd?
Those who like me are actually working really need to have such details asap as otherwise really it is difficult to book timeoff (especially then day 2/3 moved to midweek)
Thanks
Waiting for the dtd landing page with full schedules and structures to come out should answer some of those questions Hi, Any idea if there will be actual live guaranteed sats (like 10 or 20 seat gtd) sats to WPT Main and WPT500? Like last week before event instead of Daily Super50 etc. ?

Ok thanks TightEnd Hi,
Sorry if that was covered somewhere but it appears this Grand Prix gets more messy by a day. Can somebody answer 3 questions please?
1. Payout. Is this 'including 150 x £550 seats' new way of saying 'we will cover guarantee other ways even if we miss? So question is: What is actual GTD in CASH?
2. What is prediction about day 3? I mean how many people do you expect to still be in and where about in terms of money?
3. Do you still necessary need PP account or can simple buy inn/ potential payout be made through the cash desk? If former do DTD guarantee that their won't be any additional costs related to withdrawals and/or unreasonable length of withdrawals processing?
Thanks
1 150 x WPT500 seats are included as part of the guarantee, yes. thats £75,000 worth of the $1m guarantee 2 The Payout will be announced before Saturday Day 2A, paying at least 10% of unique daily entries with a min cash of $300, 1st prize will be at least $100,000. no idea how many will be in, nicola or glenn may be able to make a more accurate estimate than i would. The cash positions will be reached on day 2. 3. you need a PP account, but you can deposit onto it at the club via the terminals/devices at the front or over the cash desk. payouts are online into PP only. £1.50 will be credited to your partypoker account on top of your wiinnings to cover any withdrawal fees

Is that just a party thing though with Mastercard? I used to use Mastercard but all sites I used them started to become a ballache when trying to withdraw back to card, so I just use debit card now!!
From my experience processing payments: Mastercard CREDIT cards: yes they do have an issue due to Mastercard's policies. I doubt Party Poker can do anything about it. Basically unless something changed recently, you cannot credit funds back - no matter if that's poker or shoes from Primark. Mastercard DEBIT card: there shouldn't be any issues.
