Bugger, why didn't someone tell me about this thread? Laddies declined to sponsor me this year (despite being up on the deal after 25% of $50K in 2007) and I was looking for ways to get in to the comp without busting my bankroll. I'd have loved to play the sats, someone please PM me next time! love Bev xxx

Tim, if you get any more senior you'll be pushing up daisies, but you're right, it's a great night out. Be warned - last year I put all my chips in with Jack Ten on a JJx flop only to get 4 callers and outdrawn by Jaimie Oliver's J2 when the 2 dropped on the river. Whilst muttering (under my breath) 'How many f .. ing jacks are there in this pack?' the rest of the table was busy shoving it in with K7, A9 and a pair of . So caveat emptor - lots of fun and lots of drinking! xxx

Wow Maureen, when I saw you on Friday night I had no idea this thread existed, it certainly makes for emotional reading. You probably know our daughter Holly spent many months in Great Ormond Street as a baby, and I well know that exhaustion after you've slept for about 3 minutes amidst all the noise. It sounds as though young Reece is making a fantastic recovery so far and Norman and I wish him and you and your family all the best. Aren't kids bloody amazing? And actually, aren't parents and grandparents bloody amazing too? People will say to you 'I don't know how you do it', but the fact is we both know that you just have to get on with it and look forward to the future. I'm so glad you're getting support from this forum, I know I would have loved a network like this, and I shall follow Reece's progress from now on.
love and best wishes

Can't they combine the Full Tilt ads (atmospheric, black and white, known faces, CLOTHES) with the Dove advert (real women)? I'd love to see that.

I, too, Tikay, as an occasionally sponsored by Laddies player, have to tread carefully. I have to say, when I heard the announcement, my heart sank. I was, at the time, vacuuming the stairs (my day job), and the dog wasn't sure what had hit him when I dropped the Dyson.
I agree with all comments and would add: I have been defending Ladies Only tournaments (particularly the ELC as I like the format) for 2 years. I truly believe they give women who would not normally join in live poker a chance to be comfortable in that arena and to wet their toes with a friendly but competitive bunch. However, the other side of the coin is that Laddies must do their bit to encourage women, and using Abi simply doesn't do that. I'm sure she's a very nice woman and if she can play poker of course she should be in the competition, but the boys get plenty of tits and ass already, shouldn't Laddies be giving the girls a bit of respect and encouragement?
One suspects that Laddies were more interested in blanket coverage for the site than women's poker with this decision.

Seriously, people, I'd very much like your comments on Ladbrokes using Abi Titmuss to promote a Ladies' Poker competition.
