i have the one from sportshq - great table, but legs need to be screwed on each time - only 5 mins before and after game.  Its an excellent table - well worth the money.

who are you? and how dare cast aspersions on my character?! - i fold 10-8 everytime  Cheesy

p.s. i really don't know what your talking about - enlighten me.

it was early on in the 300 comp at the walsall masters.  i think you hit a straight playing 810os.  The guy had 2pair A and 9 i think.  I wasnt criticising, you played it well - no one on the table put you on it :-)

The guy to the right of you had busted out with KK twice in 3 hands at the time.

I would move all in and show them my hand should they fold.

The way you played 10-8 os at the Midlands Masters, Junior, im sure you would know how to play this better ;-)

I would like somebody to come and say that they have heard me swear during any poker tournament or cash games or have evey seen me abuse the dealer in any form what so ever. If anyone continues to make things up I will respond to you like I will respond to the Camel.

seems to me that you are being affected by the online version of your own methods when at the table - and its affecting you by you responding.  I thought you would have seen this and not took the bait?

Can I have a Valet (sometimes please is said)
Whats the Guarantee?

"They don't do that in Junction 10 !"  GRRRRRR

The occasional "Junction 10 has gone to the dogs" cheers me right back up though Cheesy

do you realise that you could sell a load of shirts with those sayings on them to the punters

"you hold the candle while i shave the chicken's lips" - that gets said at stoke quite often.

I use this list to show random quotes on my own site.  I collated it from loads of different places
"Hold em is to stud what chess is to checkers.",
"The guy who invented poker was bright, but the guy who invented the chip was a genius.",
"Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.",
"Whether he likes it or not, a man's character is stripped bare at the poker table; if the other players read him better than he does, he has only himself to blame. Unless he is both able and prepared to see himself as others do, flaws and all, he will be a loser in cards, as in life.",
"Cards are war, in disguise of a sport.",
"You call...gonna be all over, baby.",
"When we play, we must realize, before anything else, that we are out to make money.",
"Poker may be a branch of psychological warfare, an art form or indeed a way of life - but it is also merely a game, in which money is simply the means of keeping score.",
"Poker reveals to the frank observer something else of import--it will teach him about his own nature. Many bad players do not improve because the cannot bear self-knowledge.",
"You cannot survive without that intangible quality we call heart. The mark of a top player is not how much he wins when he is winning but how he handles his losses. If you win for thirty days in a row, that makes no difference if on the thirty-first you have a bad night, go crazy, and throw it all away.",
"Limit poker is a science, but no-limit is an art. In limit, you are shooting at a target. In no-limit, the target comes alive and shoots back at you.",
"In the absence of any mathematical explanation, one thing is for certain; if you engage in games of chance long enough, the experience is bound to affect the way you see God. Successfully draw to an inside straight three hands in a row, and you've got to be blessed. But if you're the person drawn out on, the one whose trip aces just got snapped for the third time, you will go home feeling cursed.",

"The strong point in poker is never to lose your temper, either with those you are playing with or, more particularly, with the cards. There is no sympathy in poker. Always keep cool. If you lose your head you will lose all your chips.",

"The real things to know is that folks will stand to lose more than they will to win. That's the most important percentage there is. I mean, if they lose, they're willin' to lose everything. If they win, they're usually satisfied to win enough to pay for dinner and a show. The best gamblers know that.",
"The cardinal sin in poker, worse than playing did cards, worse even than figuring your odds correctly, is becoming emotionally involved.",
"It never hurts for potential opponents to think you're more than a little stupid and can hardly count all the money in your hip pocket, much less hold on to it..",
"It's hard work. Gambling. Playing poker. Don't let anyone tell you different. Think about what it's like sitting at a poker table with people whose only goal is to cut your throat, take your money, and leave you out back talking to yourself about what went wrong inside. That probably sounds harsh. But that's the way it is at the poker table. If you don't believe me, then you're the lamb that's going off to the slaughter.",
"I've always had confidence, but I never let my ego get to the point that I think I'm the superstar, because I know that ego has destroyed many a poker career.",
"He said, 'Son, I've made a life out of readin' people's faces, and knowin' what their cards were by the way they held their eyes.",
"These two have no idea what they're about to walk into. Down here to have a good time, they figure, Why not give poker a try? After all, how different can it be from the home games they've played their whole lives? Luck. All the luck in the world isn't gonna change things for these guys. They're simply overmatched. We're (the pros at the table) not playing together, but we're not playing against each other, either. It's like the Nature Channel. You don't see piranhas eating each other, do you?",
"There are few things that are so unpardonably neglected in our country as poker. The upper class knows very little about it. Now and then you find ambassadors who have sort of a general knowledge of the game, but the ignorance of the people is fearful. Why, I have known clergymen, good men, kind-hearted, liberal, sincere, and all that, who did not know the meaning of a 'flush'. It is enough to make one ashamed of the species.",
"If, after the first twenty minutes, you don't know who the sucker at the table is, it's you.",
"I never go looking for a sucker. I look for a Champion and make a sucker of of him.",
"If you are a guy, you know you play too much poker if your wet dreams involve 'nuts' instead of breasts.",
"It is better to make people think you are a bad poker player, than to play and remove all doubt. Don't play to impress, play to win.",
"Don't get mad that you lost, get mad because you didn't win.",
"Hold'em - like life itself - has its defining moment.  It's the flop.  When you see the flop, you're looking at 71 percent of your hand, and the cost is only a single round of betting.",
"Most of the money you'll win at poker comes not from the brilliance of your own play, but from the ineptitude of your opponents.",
"The next time you get ready to tell a bad beat story, stop and ask yourself why you want to tell a losing story?"

i've seen a four man brawl break out in stanleys in stoke over a £150 pot. At 1st it was funny but they were really knocking lumps out of each other. Stokie's and booze, an explosive mix.

you have us down to a tee !!! lol

had a notorious stokie player (all u midlanders will know who i mean!) try it on with me at stoke a few months back and he ended up smelling like he pood his pants - the joys of being 6'3 and fat (my mum says big boned).

generally, i have found, when you stand up to someone who is calling you or rubbing it in, they are not brave enough and back down (on the 3 occasions its happened to me).

11  Poker Forums / The Rail / Tikay, his tool and his mode !!! on: November 25, 2005, 04:50:39 PM
I posted about my poker hand replay tool in the thread 'new member' and people commented on the size of the cards (that they were big)...

* Im not linking to the tool incase i am accused of spamming Smiley

So, i created an option in the tool just for tikay - everyone else will see small cards, and tikay's will be huge (via an option on the form).
12  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: New member on: November 25, 2005, 04:21:04 PM
Welcome UKPokerInfo.
By the way, you probably know that this is a "non-spam" zone, so I'd be grateful if you could avoid giving your site address in each post, as some folks might considier that to be spamming, especially as you are a newbie.

Understood tikay - but it only appeared when someone asked what tools i made.  When you post the output from the replayer tool, a link to the site is present as this allows me to keep the tool free of charge.

ive said it elsewhere - aint a better card room manager (or managed card room) that i have come across on my travels so far.  and this includes walsall which is not up to the qualities of broadway.

Heres one - http://www.ukpokerinfo.co.uk/tools/adv-hand-replay.php

It lets you explain how a hand was made without typing - and ive added in the last few hours the ability to show you exactly how much of a chance you have of winning at each stage of the hand. So you can post a hand say when you are doing the live updates to this forum, and you can say straight away that Thewy was a lucky sod (joke!) on a hand you describe.

I dont want to explain more as it sounds like i am here to promote that - i just wanted to join instead of reading all the time Smiley

example:

@The blinds are 100 and 200
@James is in Big Blind position and Jammy Swine is in Cut Off position.

James Jammy Swine
Winning odds at this stage: James 26.50% - Jammy Swine 71.59%

@Jammy Swine calls  @James checks

The Flop Comes
Winning odds at this stage: James 87.58% - Jammy Swine 12.42%

@James raises to  500 @Jammy Swine re-raises to  2000 @James goes all-in for  6000 @Jammy Swine calls

The Turn card is
Winning odds at this stage: James 93.18% - Jammy Swine 6.82%

The River card is
Winning odds at this stage: James 0.00% - Jammy Swine 100.00%

Hi

Im a new member here from the uk.  regularly play at stoke, walsall (in recent masters but didnt do too well), broadway, star city and blackpool (bad beat city for me!).

Ive only been playing for about 5 months, but had some decent final table finishes (about 20 or so), and am improving all the time.

I thought it was about time i actually posted, rather than just read this forum.

I run a poker website myself (new one) for a team that we have created in stoke, but had new members join from other regions now and am a computer geek, so i am always writing poker tools for websites etc.

Thats me done and I hope i am welcomed here  Cool
