5  Poker Forums / The Rail / blonde2 to be the new default theme on: March 27, 2006, 09:47:42 PM
It seems that the blonde2 theme is more of a hit so I'll be making it the default theme in the next 20 mins or so

For those of you who still prefer blonde 1.....

Profile > Look & Layout Preferences > Current Theme (Change)

Select 'blonde'

Cheers

blonde2 is much better but there is still black text dark background such as the user info box at the top. can we try a blonde3 dark background biege text?

I'd like to let things settle down a bit before we do wholesale changes to the theme. Changing the colours in one place can affect the look of a different area very easily because the same colour settings are re-used all over the forum. I thought changing the colours of the main posting areas was essential though to make sure everyone could read things - some people obviously have darker monitors than others and some people are just colour blind Wink

We had to reduce the number of availabe themes because the workload of maintaining them all with advertising changes over time would have been more than could reasonable be managed.

We should be able to manage 2 themes, but we do need to keep to the new blonde colour scheme.

Hope this is ok and we'll measure the response over the next day or so.

Cheers

One other thing - if the images look blurred at all in Firefox, rest your cursor over the image and press SHIFT+r

This should improve them.

Ok - try this one, I've lightened the colours and removed the yellow titles which are not readable on a lighter grey background.

Profile > Look & Layout Preferences > Current Theme (Change)

Select 'blonde 2'

Hi all,

This is to notify you that blondepoker.net will no longer be used to host a mirror of this forum following the Monte Carlo tournament.

The blondepoker.com domain has now fully permeated the internet and hitting this url will now take all comers to the new server.

If you access blondepoker.com and you are still seeing a redirect page then this is becuase your cache still contains the page. Clearing it out will sort this problem for you.

At the risk of giving demos on egg sucking, here's how....
Firefox - Tools>Options>Clear (Cache)
Internet Explorer - Tools>Internet Options>General Tab>Delete Files

I've checked the usage on both the domains and there are still a few .net users, though we're literally talking about a few so if you're one of them, please update your bookmarks to blondepoker.com as soon as you're able.

Not to worry if you don't do this in time, we will redirect .net users to blondepoker.com in the same manner as we did at the beginning of the week.

Thanks for your patience everyone.

13  Poker Forums / The Rail / .Com .Net and Pictures on: March 07, 2006, 01:05:35 PM
Some people may have noticed they can't see some pictures when logged into either the blondepoker.com or blondepoker.net.

This is a temporary and expected side effect of the upgrade to a new server and the move of the blondepoker.com domain to the new server. My apologies for not warning about it but I wanted to keep the information as succinct as possible.

The .com has already started filtering through the internet and most of you can now access it without being re-directed though to completely permeate the internet it will take another couple of days.

In the mean time pictures uploaded to the .net won't be visible in the .com domain (and vice versa) for a few hours - but they will get there.
I suspect most people in the uk can now access the blondepoker.com domain without being re-routed so log onto this domain if you can and most of you will see pictures uploaded there.

I went to bed the same time as my kids last night. They thought it was great - telling me to brush my teeth and wash my hands etc. Smiley

That will continue to be the case until the blondepoker.com domain moves across to the new server (in a few days time).

If this is a problem, edit the link and change blondepoker.com to blondepoker.net (leave the rest of the url the same) and it should take you to the required thread.

Once the blondepoker.com domain has moved, your old thread links will work as before.

cheers
