I last posted on here a few months ago because the television channel I work for is showing new episodes of its most popular poker series World Poker Tour.

The episodes are being shown every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7.30pm on Front Runner, the UK's only free sports channel. They're also repeated regularly during the day.

Front Runner is available on Freeview ch91, FreeSat ch250, Talk Talk/BT ch91 and Sky ch468.

[Popular U.S. poker show Poker Night in America to debut on Front Runner]

Last month, I posted about the launch of Front Runner, a new Freeview channel airing poker shows. Next week, we have a popular U.S. poker show 'Poker Night in America' making its UK debut on Channel 91.

Popular U.S. poker show Poker Night in America to debut on Front Runner

Poker Night in America is to make its UK television debut on the brand new sports channel Front Runner.

As well as following the game around the table, the series emphasises the fun and banter that unfolds between the players, many of whom are poker pros and/or celebrities.

Some of the big names include Mike Matusow (aka The Mouth), Phil Laak (aka The Unabomber) and Will Failla (aka The Thrill). All will be playing “cash games”, using real chips and there’s real money at stake.

Each episode is set in a different location, starting at Turning Stone Casino in Verona New York - one of best casinos in the United States.

Poker Night in America will be aired on Thursday nights, starting November 17 at 9pm on Freeview channel 91.

Ryan Scarratt, of Front Runner, said: “Poker Night in America has never aired in the UK before, so we’re really excited to be offering this show exclusively and for free to our viewers.
 
“Poker shows have been really popular since the channel launched last month and this series offers a fresh perspective of the game with some of the most talented names in the business.”

Front Runner brings world poker to free-to-air TV

World Poker Tour has hit free-to-air UK TV screens with the launch of new action sports channel Front Runner.

Action from the final tables of premiere high-stakes poker tournaments around the world will be shown throughout the week on Freeview channel 91.

The latest series of World Poker Tour will be free-to-air from midnight Monday to Saturday, with a marathon session from midday to 6pm every Sunday.

The Tour played a huge role in igniting the global poker boom, turning players into global stars watched in more than 150 countries and territories worldwide.

Ryan Scarratt, of Front Runner, said: “We’re really excited to be bringing World Poker Tour to free-to-air UK TV. We know there’s a huge audience out there in the poker world, and we sure they’ll enjoy watching some of the best in the business.”

As well as poker, Front Runner will feature skateboarding, snowboarding, watersports, motocross, BMX, boxing and MMA fighting, with live sports coming soon.
