For any of you that use EBAY be very aware that scammers and hackers are very frequent, Ebay keep it very very quiet.

The GOLDEN RULE never never never respond to an email in your (personal email) inbox pertaining to be from ebay, ebay will only ever send you an email directly into your EBAY mail box and they will never ask for your credit card details or passwords.

Trace

I didnt mean you I meant your friend, if she is reading the book and considering using patches then she is either not reading it or not understanding it.

If the patches are working for you then good luck the book is not the be all and end all just another method, you do what works for you and well done for being brave enough to give it a go.

Just a footnote though !

The 'easyway' method done properly means that you never have those moments where you reallly fancy a fag.  Right at the beggining of this thread RED DOG mentions that he really fancied a smoke, this is typical (apparently) of the willpower method of giving up, where you do actually feel as though you are giving up something as opposed to just stopping an awful addiction.

Irrespective of your chosen method I reccomend giving this book a read it has some real good common sense stuff in it.  I hope I dont sound preachy or condescending its just that I consider quitting the weed one of the biggest achievements of my life and anything I can do to help others to achieve the same I am happy to do.

good luck

message to Tank

You say you enjoy fags, you dont m8.  well you do but you dont  Cheesy  Put it this way:

If you have a new pair of shoes and they are tight and give you blisters YOU ENJOY the moment you get home and take them off, but the crazy thing is YOU DIDNT HAVE TO PUT THEM ON  this is one of the fundamental themes of the book and that was one of a high number of examples.

Having read your threads you are obviously a bright guy, you will easiliy grasp the ideas in the book.  Cant say the same for the person mentioned in the previous post as nicotine patches as also mentioned in the book are fighting poison with poison and will not work under the EASY WAY method.

I havnt read the total thread so it may have been mentioned previously.  THE EASY WAY TO STOP SMOKING BY ALLEN CARR WORKED FOR ME.  I was as bad as red dog mentions in regards to fags.  I have retrieved dog ends from the bins in my house and lit them even though the other rubbish had made them a bit damp and smelly, your self respect cant get much lower than at that point.  Thats what an evil habit smoking is.  The book I mention above saved my life, I higly reccomend it, it is the Doyle Brunsons supersystem of self help books.

We were all fish once and depending on your skill base you will always be a fish to someone with a much higher set of skills than you.  Unless you are the best player in the world that means YOU !.  I can safely say that the lessons I have learnt the best, the ones that have had a real fundamental effect on my game are the ones where bettter players have slagged of my play.

On a number of occasions this has happened and the insult has hurt.  It has caused me to go away and deeply reflect on whether the insult was justified.  On the occasions where it was I have made changes to my game and become a better player becuase of it.  So I can safely say that when fish are slagged, off apart from the ones who are there just for fun, will be educated I know this from personal experience and dont mind admitting it. Those that dont want to be educated and are playing for fun do not deserve criticism anyway.

I am a consistent winner in small buy in no limit cash games.  I get drawn out on a lot as you would expect playing with fish.  It is hard not to tilt at times as the standard of play is not great and the level of beats quite high.  If you are a better player than your peers at the level you play something that will happen very regularly is that the money will all go in when you have the best of it.  Every time this happens I pat myself on the back.  Every time I get outdrawn during this process I pat myself on the back.  It IS tempting to slag the opposition off, when this temptation occurs I have a simple remedy........... I TURN THE CHATBOX OFF.

Whilst reading this I am reminded of a funny (and typical) piece of Irish humour.  The returning Irish football squad (The Jack Charlton one) were given an open top bus celebration tour of Dublin on thier return from the world cup finals where they had played way above expectation and done themselves and the nation proud.

This happened to coincide with Nelson Mandellas visit to the fair isle who was given the same honour.  As the bus passed the masses a smiling waving (and probably confused) Mr Mandela was greeted with the following chant

ooh ahh Paul Mcraths
ooh ahh Paul Mcraths

(Da = Dadin Irish slang)   Grin

Watching the footy or something just as manly, poker racing etc, your choice after all who OWNS the remote control ? whilst completely ignoring what she is saying to you but nodding and smiling in what you are randomly guessing are the appropriate places, then hearing something mid sentance that interests you and then making her completely repeat the whole last five minutes (making out you didnt actually hear rather than just wasnt listening) then realising the bit that interested you isnt actually all that interesting after all and instanlty reverting back to the smiling nodding but taking no notice whatsoever mode.

Champion !

Someone once said that degenerate gamblers 'subconciously want to lose' and that the need to lose is directly related to thier upbringing and life experiences etc.

I guess that hidden in all this chummy wow what a great post stuff and arnt we a lovley community bit is the fact that this is a gamblers forum.  A number of people that post here have gambling problems, the unusual thing about the original post is that the guy realises that fact.  I would suggest that the fact you are aware of your problem means that you are a long way to solving it.

You shouldnt be gambling Sir, so stop.............easy for me to say !

good luck
