1  Poker Forums / The Rail / New Laptop/notebook help required!! on: July 31, 2007, 11:14:38 AM
Help required!
Close to buying a Laptop as a back up to my PC, would appreciate a little advice.

I suppose the main reason for buying a Laptop/notebook would be the convenience of using it to play Poker in any room in the house (fed up being isolated in a small dull study!) have a great conservatory which I am seldom in!

I am currently looking at a Dell Inspiron 6400 which I think would meet my needs, which are modest.  It looks like good value to me.

Before I click the "buy" button has anyone got any thoughts, re suitability, addons etc.

Any comments re the best wireless connection would also be appreciated.

Oh any advice on internet connection when using it abroad when on holiday would be great.

The following is the spec on the Dell Inspiropn 6400 I am considering:

Very well played ECK and very unlucky M8, it was a pleasure meeting you.
It was my first APAT event and most enjoyable it was too. Must be by far the friendliest event in the UK and the best organised. It was great meeting all the Blonde's including DanDan, Dewi,  Des and loads more

Looking forward to the Tourney on Saturday, hoping to meet a few "Blondes!" Please say hello if you recognise me from The "mug" shot (see left)
Good luck all.

I need to book a hotel for the Scottish APAT event.  Does anyone have any recommendations?

Where are others staying?

Thanks.
Try the Hilton at Edinburgh Airport, 5 minutes from the casino by car or the Marriott 111 Glagow Road, walking distance

Do you get any sort of confirmation when you join apat or register for the event, all I've got is my paypal receipt so far.

On completing your payment via paypal you should have been directed to a welcome new members page.  I will make sure a manual email is sent out to you today happybhoy.

Cheers,

Des.

Paid by debit card, all I have received  so far is an email confirming payment from Metacharge but that's it Do I get a membership number or other confirmation from APAT?

your email address is your membership ID

Thanks
