Great to see you're still posting Tom. Love reading about your exploits, especially at my all-time favourite venue, Luton.

It's about time you won it big at Poker and on your Roulette bet that you do.

Hopefully catch you at Luton at some point before the end of the year.

Cheers
Jamie

Luxor helped with an ITIN, which I now have, following a win on a puggy in there, which was above the $1,199 limit for tax. Paid the full amount too and were very friendly with it.

Was lucky enough to win a nice amount again in the Venetian and they withheld 30%, which was like a kick in the baws.
This was despite me showing them the 'pending' ITIN from the Luxor.
Said they are under new management and can't help anymore.

Didn't play in the WSOP but took a walk round and did see many tables offering to help non-US citizens with tax issues following any large win.
Not sure of the cut they would take but made me think the WSOP themselves were withholding tax from European winners.

Anyone have any idea where I can get a poker schedule for Luton G?
Used to view on Twitter but not now available.
Would rather not download an App.

Cheers
Cotter.

Is it easy to get an ITIN number before you travel out?

Can you get one out there if you haven't won anything.... just in case you do?

I believe it takes quite some time
Try this https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/how-do-i-apply-for-an-itin

from that link

You can apply for an ITIN any time during the year when you have a filing or reporting requirement. At a minimum, you should complete Form W-7 when you are ready to file your federal income tax return by the return’s prescribed due date. If the tax return you attach to Form W-7 is filed after the return's due date, you may owe interest and/or penalties.

So you can't get it on spec.

Thanks Doubleup.
Seems easier to do what I normally do and win less than the required ITIN amount.

Cheers

Hi Vin,
Cheers for the info.

Tbf, I couldn't see, but the other players said the Button showed the goods.

Now I know of this new rule, I only hope I'm not ever in a situation to exploit it.

Nice to hear from you buddy.

Jamie.

I think you've called it right Doubleup.

It was the fact that no-one at the table could see any advantage that confused me most.

Was thinking about it, and imagine the satellite had got to the bubble.
8 tickets and 9 players.

If the rule didn't exist, as it appears not to according to Luton G anyway, all players with reasonable and large stacks could call the short stack pre-flop and then all fold, instead of checking, until the one with the 'winning' hand raises.
No short stack would recover from this situation if it happened every hand.

IMO, it sets a precedent for cheating to exist and pretty much stinks.
I always preferred Luton to any other Poker game. I like the other players and atmosphere and feel it's fair and consistent.

Not sure about this however.

In a way I agree Ledders but still think this 'rule' is more than just poker etiquette.

As an example, if a tournament was down to the last 3 players and seats 2 and 3 were friends or related, what would seat 1 think if this kept happening?

Also pretty sure you only have check or bet options online in this exact situation.

I'm all for sensible rulings and keeping the game flowing but am not a fan of this if it is a rule.

Played a satellite at Luton last night and was at a table of 9 players.

Pre flop, folded to button who bet 2.5x.
I called in the SB and the BB completed.

Flop comes and down and I check.
The BB then folds.
Button bets and I fold.

Before the Button had bet, I asked the dealer if he was calling the floor.
He asked what for and I said because the BB had folded when his options were check or bet.

No-one at the table or the TD seemed to understand my point that the BB had effectively acted out of turn and had given an unfair advantage to the Button.

Have I imagined that this isn't 'allowed', or is it right to just fold, with multiple players in the pot, when you have the option to check?

Many Thanks
Cotter.

Had to spend another 15 quid, but got the 4th night.

I've double booked the first week, so will see what the schedules are like and cancel the one I don't want.

21st-28th Aria/GN
28th-2nd Wynn
2nd-10th Vdara

Going to play a few more tourneys this year, now that my tolerance for alcohol is as low as the tolerance my legs have for walking.

Hi Marky,

Is it a room you book or a stay for 1 person?
can you stay in other places than the Wynn with these Gems?

Cheers

Cotter

The rooms through the Wynn Slots app are just a deluxe room at the Wynn, and I think you have to pay a nightly surcharge to switch to a twin.

The Wynn app is just for them, and myVegas is for MGM properties.
Thanks Marky  goldstar

In no way surprised by his attitude.
Belgium is not a fun place!

Never go anywhere with Stan in it, except Hunstanton, or Belgium.

It's was £253 return, but these prices never hang around (understandably when its that cheap!) so by the time you posted, some 24 hours later, it was probably long gone.

If I see anything else that looks good I'll pop it in here, but any interested parties would need to act fast.

Thanks hh, really appreciate that.
Can't believe those prices and Vegas could well be on the cards for next year now.
