Speaking to Mickey Wernick on the sidelines, he was keen to pick the brains of the blonde poker audience and grab a few opinions on his exit hand. So... Blinds = 150/300 Mateyboy = 10k Barny Boatman = 12k Mickey Wernick = 15k Mickey finds in early position and raises to 700. Barny and Mateyboy both call. Flop = Barny checks, Mickey makes it 1.2k and Mateyboy re-raises to 2.6k. Barny re-re-raises to 6k, Mickey moves all-in, Mateyboy and Barny both call. Barny = Mateyboy = The set of Deuces hold up. "Ask them what they think of my play, Snoops. Should I have got away from it or was I right to push all-in?" Over to you guys, all opinions appreciated, even Flushy's. Is case anyone is pondring Mikey's story I'll tell it as it was, so it makes sense: I was on the bb with 13k, (blinds 150/300) Mickey has min raised to 700 and one or two have called before me. I call the extra 400 with . On a flop of I check, mickey bets 1,200 matey bets 4,200 and I pick up up my 1k chips and make it 11k to go. Now Mikey shoves for 17k and Matey calls 11k all in. I call my last 2k for a 4k side pot with Mikey. To me, every play by all three of us was a no-brainer. I just wish Mikey had made a bigger raise pre-flop!

Tikay mentioned to me a while ago that people have been asking on this forum about the Showdown Poker Tour and he asked me to post some information on here. I have been speaking with the organisers and they tell me that they are expecting in excess of seventy runners, perhaps a lot more, for the inaugural event at the Gutshot on the 6th of May. There are three sites running on-line qualifiers and at the last count about twenty seats have been generated. So it won't just be the usual suspects. To those have cited Gustshot's retro-chic surroundings as possible factor in deciding whether to play, I can reveal that Gustshot are expanding next door and Barry Martin assures me that 260 players can be accommodated in comfort and style for the 5,000 Euro event. You can see the full Showdown schedule here: http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/circuit.php?a=e&n=SDPT

Thierry Cazals has moved in now, after becoming over the course of two hours, a short stack. He's pushed on the button after it folded round to him, and there are two blinds to get past. Interestingly, although they both fold, big blind Aleksander Strandli exposes one card before the small blind Ash could act. He is given a rather severe ten minute penalty, and says "It's not like I am going to lose a lot of chips, it's just that it's a stupid rule. But what can you do?"
A stupid rule? What if by exposing the card the bb had made the sb realise that he was going to fold. The sb now knowing he is in no danger of being re-raised decides he can safely call and the buton is knocked out? Would ten minutes seem harsh then? Of course, I didn't see what happensed and it may well have been harsh in this case.

Wow. It reminds me of my surprise birthday party.
Yes. I was wearing an MMM hat, and it is still still in my car. Unfortunately I have no idea where the car is. No I'm not tiered of the thehendonmob.com, I only really popped in here to congratulate Junior on his Hills win, but I must admit it's good here too and now I've got another distraction from work. Marvelous. I hope you'll all look in on our forum as well.
Apologies if I had anything to do with any of you getting into poker. If I could turn back time I'd be... Doctor Who.
Now, about that flipping button...

yes , i need chips, the only way barney calls is w/ something line trips, i was unlucky, 9 out of 10 times its my pot [/quote]
Come on Brian, nine out of ten times? Give me some credit. Why do you think I checked in the dark before the flop? I was planning to trap check YOU all in. You saw how I played Greg with the same hand. The truth is that neither you or I need to hit a monster to put our chips in if we think we can make someone pass. I don't think I'd have done it on that flop though, you nutter!

Well played Greg. Excellent raise against Chris Johanson when it flopped J,J,10. I didnt realise quite how strong you were playing at that stage. A well deserved victory. A shame the cameras didn't show that I pased A,7 when you knocked out Chris with A,10. That would have made the river card even more exciting.
See you around. Barny
