1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Hi all new to this and have a couple of questions? on: February 27, 2006, 07:11:32 PM
Hi all,

Ok am pretty new to the world of texas but i have been a betting man all my life mostly on the horses , but ive allways enjoyed playing cards. While over here ( Am from Australia by the way) visiting family i started to play poker online , first for play but more recently for money . My first question is ..If your trying to make some decent money which is the best game type to play? I have found myself that i can quite often win or get into the money playing sit and go comps of 10/20/30 people at a £10 buy in but its hard to get ahead as the pay offs arent hughe on the other hand i go into these tournments where there is normally around 400 to 550 players involed ( i play at the pokerroom.com by the way ) And find it hard to get into the money allthough i have got a 9th place out of 550 before and can regually make it to the pay off stage but seem to be having troulbe going all the way . My question is basicly for people whom have been making an income of this am am undiced weather to stick with sit and go or keep trying the latger one ideally a tournment with about 150 to 200 would be right up my ally but there hard to find at the pokerroom? My second question for you is the Australian scence ?? As i have become very interested in this wonderfull game since arriving here in the UK am keen to pursue it when i return to Oz in a few weeks time but am not so sure if it is as popular over there , does anyone here know much about the poker secne in Oz as i have never played live and i would love to do so , as i think am a better player live than on the net. Dose Austarlia have an EPT or something simmilar...am based in Brisbane any feed back on theses matters would be greatly appreciated..
