I agree with snatty on the double standards of self - dealing and dealer dealt. This issue is likely to appear again on Saturday with the £100 jobbie. The event is likely to gain in excess of 100 should it get to the same numbers as last years event then 197 will be the final number. The likelihood of all dealer dealt is bordering on 0%-0.1%.

Last year they were naive in thinking that a festival £100 tourney would get in excess of 100 runners and therefore did not have enough dealers. This year though surely they cannot use the same excuse as they have history to compare to. They should be planning in advance to have enough dealers to cover the cardroom to its capacity.

There are also some who believe the festival doesn't actually start until Sunday this is a load of "tottenham" the GUKPT website states the Saturday event as the first of the side events.

Lets hope they have planned it well this year and the cardroom has been covered by dealers. If not then post here on Sunday the top reasons you heard as to why they didn't have enough dealers.

I am considering the DTD £300 it seems to be a very good tourney, decent prize pool and good structure. Hopefully some good quality poker. Luton on the Saturday / Sunday are mediocre at best.

I know the GUKPT starts on Saturday however it is also the DTD £300 monthly. Is anyone playing the DTD £300 instead of playing the opening event of the GUKPT.

It was a Scandinavian dominated tourney with a few tokens Brits. Top 3 Luton players imo Chompy, Mo Muse, Jeff B
The last two don't apply themselves enough in the Luton based tourneys maybe something to do with the buy ins, however when they play larger buy in tourneys they do seem to get results.

As far as making it as cheap as possible, flightwise your best off for Virgin's direct route book it through the website as they price match if you find it cheaper elsewhere. You can try looking at going via somewhere else but most of the time this doesn't work out cheaper.

For hotels always book direct with the hotel as if the price drops you can phone them and they will change the price for you. If you book with someone here they will not change the price. Also if you book with the hotel directly you don't need to pay until you checkout you only pay 1 night to guarantee it.

I have attached some links of websites that track hotels special offers. These are golden as Vegas is currently in its worse downturn since the mob left town and are begging people to stay. Remember to check the terms and conditions to make sure you can cancel it.
