My image is 'tightest player in the world', hence the re-raise out of the BB. Getting 4-1, what range of hands should I be calling with?

My first instincts are that you made a great fold. But, it really depends on whether you felt your opponent was a good player, who understood the texture of the board and the implications of the 10 hitting the turn. If you felt he did, the ten hitting the turn demands a check, regardless if he believes he was ahead or not. Thus, his all-in bet looks more like AK-AJ and a desperate bluff. If you believed he didn’t understand, then it’s more likely that he held AA-JJ. A good example from the 2.5K shorthanded WSOP event this year - Blinds were 200/400 with 50 ante. Ultra-tight guy raises on the button to 1200 with about 17K behind, I cover and call in the BB with QT d. Flop came Q9x. I checked called 2K. Turn was another Q, I checked and he bet 4.8K. I did exactly the same as you “hmmmm” (inside my head ). He should have been scared of that card but wasn’t, I realised he didn’t understand the implications of the turn card and how he should of reacted to it in order to alter my perception. I figured he had AQ-KQ, but my goldfish memory had forgotten about my thoughts 30 seconds earlier and I put him all-in. He called with AQ and took down the pot. Your hand is similar, except you were good enough to lay down a monster.

Bet the pot on the flop and the hand is much easier to play. If you had bet the pot, most opponents with stronger holdings than top & bottom pair, would make a more sizeable raise in order to get all the money in asap. In the instance where he basically min-raised your $16 bet, he could have any combination of made hands or draws at this point and you've put a decent amount of money in the pot and don't know where you stand. You've forced yourself to put more money in and see the turn.
You show strength and bet $26 on the flop, the standard 2-4 player gets excited and makes it $75, you discount the 2 hands you could possibly beat (because who min-raises utg with Aces or Kings?) and make a difficult laydown.
If I bet the pot and he reraises me he could still have AQ (with A spades) couldn't he? He could have AsQ, but you've narrowed his range down considerably from the range of his $40 min-raise, which could have been anything. His new range would have been - AsQ, QJ, KsQ, possibly AsJ (discounting AA-JJ because of the min-raise pre-flop and AsXs would probably smooth call). "Now it costs me much more to find out." Now, atleast it gives you the opportunity to fold. If you don't want to fold, it would improve the flow of the whole hand. Betting the pot, 3-betting all-in is a much more credible line for a small flush or a hand that has him beat. It removes the horrible situation of being out of position on the turn, with $270 left in a $200+ pot.

Can be watched tonight at 9:30 p.m, with TVU player on www.viidoo.com. Picture quality on ESPN2 isn't great but it's watchable. Don't think it works in Firefox, so you may have to use Internet Explorer.

Haha, I did the same thing last night on Full Tilt! Didn't notice the game had switched from 7CS to Razz and I capped QQQ77 on all streets >:?

I will be there from 7th to the 10th. I'm thinking about getting a Blonde Mohawk, should distinguish myself from the crowd. jk What's the tournament structure like down by the seaside? Starting Chips? Clock? Any funny rules 1 should be aware of? Also, am I wrong in thinking a double chance tourney is 1 rebuy allowed?
