Not wanting to be rude or crude....

but if I'm sitting at a table in Vegas with a lot of chips and a gal comes over and asks my name then I'd half expect to find her performing "turn down service" when I retired to my room!

Great coverage djinn and tikay. Thanks for all the updates. Looking forward to another day of action from the Rio.

Your constant coverage is especially impressive considering all the Vegas temptations that abound..... Smiley

The gal is a crazy one from the Donal Trump show the Apprentice. Do not get between her and a microphone and a camera as you will get run over and stomped on.

The guy is actor Ron Livingston who first made him mark in the comedy "Swingers" and then in "Office Space."

He seems like a good guy to hang with.

Is that tikay in this video from cardplayer.com (just over the right shoulder of the interviewee and in the green shirt?)

tikay- just read your bio...I work in construction too. If you get a chance, meandering around the Strip looking at the new construction can be an enjoyable activity (though a hot one this time of year.)  Who knows, maybe you can get picked up as a project consultant and stick around town for a year or two.

In an event, am enjoying the WSOP updates!

Great coverage djinn and tikay.  Almost as good as being there...

BTW, as a frequent traveller to Vegas, I can assure you that the freeway is just a quicker way to get to the heart of the Strip (i.e. Flamingo and Las Vegas Blvd.)  But many new arrivals want to ride down the Strip which takes longer for impatient cabbies.

And it's not a good idea to wander around anywhere but the Strip.  Chances are you won't ever be hurt under the neon lights, but you could easily get clunked adjacent to any of the construction sites or side streets!

My best advice for safety is to check into the Bellagio and remain in the pool area.  Wink

Whether that story is true or not, the "bottom" line about Vegas hookers is that they are overpriced. And if you still want to pay the premium, then grab one from your hotel bar (Cleopatras Barge at Caesars for example) and bring her back to your room.  There is security at the elevators who will keep unexpected guests from showing up.

IMHO, you're better off saving the $$ and hitting a strip club in someplace else like Dallas or Phoenix.  Vegas gals are jaded.

Good luck in the Main Event everyone! I hope my fellow US citizens in Vegas are hospitable to the UK crew.
I look forward to the daily updates starting tomorrow.

If you see Phil Gordon (6 foot 9 inch tall poker professional promoting his new DVD), get on his podcast and give a shout out to Phil in Austin Texas.

And if you suffer a a bad beat then head over to the Light or Caramel bars in the Bellagio for a margarita to cool you off.

Enjoy Vegas. Enjoy the card playing. And if you bust out may it be to someone stellar like Phil Ivey, Johnny Chan or Chris Ferguson....and not some punk who got lucky in an internet tournament.
