Congrats to Phil and unlucky Eck (not that I know who u are sorry), a crazy harsh way to lose.

Thanks to Des, Tighty and Tikay for putting on another great event.  I think we all appreciate immensley the work you guys put in, not just on the day but in the weeks and months preceeding.

A point aside, apologies I had to get away Des, Ill be honoured to help out next event.

One point for next time, can you make sure you invite the Scottish popstar wannabe guy again, hes not my cup of tea, but if he brings his girlfriend along again Ill be a happy man indeed - Des I am expecting some crafty pic coverage, dont let the side down!!!

Agree with everything Max says, especially about Beckham and his missus!!! Anyone know how far he got, i was sat next to him for a while and he was a bag of nerves poor lad, I sent him outside for a break when he went from 3.5k in chips to 42k in half an hour, he couldnt pick his chips up!

This is the fault of the guys used by APAT to collect the funds. It was highlighted on Watchdog a couple of weeks back and is becoming a widespread problem on ebay apparently.

The only problem I have with this discussion is that people seem to be under the impression that no one has a life away from poker (I can hear the gasps now! FROM PASTY FACED POKER PLAYERS EVERYWHERE!) APAT is for amatuers (ie: people who do not play full time and have a life away from the game!) So obviously things crop up in peoples lives they were not expecting, a car might break down and need £400 of repairs, guy cant now go to Edinburgh. Work may demand you go in and that has to come first. Your kids may be taken ill and you need to be there for them. Things and situations change daily and so someone who had every intention of going may have to drop out. Its not the end of the world and someone is there to take their place.

I agree that regionals should be on a pro-rata basis. Lets say they put an entry fee of £15 on. then for every 5 places you get one place up for grabs. Problem solved
