I'm very interested in this. How difficult to install XP?
How well does it run with XP?
What's battery life like?
Can you get a car-charger/adapter?
Please.
The difficulty with installing XP is down to the fact that the EeePC only has 4Gb disk space, of which a standard XP install would take up about 3Gb worth. There is a free tool called nLite that allows you to remove all the bits of XP you don't need, so that it takes up less space. It works a treat, but it took me 3 attempts before I had an install that had everything I needed! So a bit of time and effort was required. It might well be worth waiting on the new versions with XP pre-installed. Particularly as you also need an external CD/DVD drive to do the install in the first place (I picked a cheap one up for £30).
It runs fantastically well with XP, I've had no problems whatsoever. I upgraded the RAM to 2Gb from the standard 512Mb, only about £40 from Play.com.
Battery life is about 3 and a half hours with Wi-Fi enabled.
You can get car chargers and accessories from Clove Technologies, haven't used them myself, but I hear they are good.
