Thank you for the links and the information about the plaza. I guess the bottom line is that I am going to have to go to the strip. I do really enjoy the 8pm venetian tournament. The structure is good and the buy-in is reasonable. Well, I am off to pack and start my drive to Vegas. Wish me luck!!!

I know a lot of you out are in Vegas for the WSOP, but are many of you venturing downtown for any tournaments? I played in a tournament at the Golden Nugget, but I wasn't too impressed by the structure or the claustrophobic room. I plan on playing at least one at Binions, but are these the only places worth playing at?
I am also having a very difficult time finding any limit cash games of 4/8 or higher except at Binions...it is difficult to beat the rake in games with such low stakes, but I have made a vow to become a better player before I venture into NL again.
If anyone has any suggestions for tournaments downtown or good cash games, please clue me in. I know I can find all I want and more on the strip, but I hate the traffic and time wasted driving there and then having to drive back to my hotel.

I can't stop laughing...that story was hilarious! It is so weird how everyone thinks there is only one Brian Wilson--when I told one of my poker buddies who I met, he instantly assumed it was the Beach Boy.

Thanks again for all the welcomes...I leave for Vegas tomorrow, so hopefully I will more interesting adventures with Brian. I will obviously share all the interesting moments. I am just hoping this trip will bring me some good poker stories. I can't seem to cash in any tournaments and it is driving me nuts!

I know you are shocked...Brian drinking and telling stories! He told me he only drinks once in a while...ok, I can't even type that with a straight face. Brian seems to love his beer, and we even got him to do a shot. I think we were definitely a bad influence on him..lol!
He is playing the $1,500 event today, so I hope everyone will wish him luck.

P.S. I was shocked to find out he has never seen "Sean of the Dead" or "Hot Fuz". I think both of these movies were hilarious...did anyone else like these movies?

I now live in Southern California, but I am from Dallas, Texas. I just started playing cards last year, but fell in love with it instantly. I play a ton of low buy-in tournaments and limit cash games.
This is how I met Brian: I was sitting at Binions playing video poker at the bar, talking with the Bartender about poker...Brian walks up and asks if he made a bad all-in call with 7 4 off. The bartender and I both start laughing...he explained the hand and how it all fell out, and the fun just never stopped after that.
I really appreciate all the hello's and welcomes, and I can't wait to get more involved with the forum. I am venturing back to Vegas next weekend, so hopefully I will have some good poker stories to share.

Brian insisted this was the best forum and that I had to join, so I followed his advice...and I completely agree with him. He seems like a really great guy...is he pulling the wool over my eyes (lol)?
Also, I would like to congratulate Foxy on his 2nd place finish today in the wsop $5,000 no limit holdem event.
