A short time ago the Grosvenor Casino Aberdeen pulled out of hosting our APAT Scottish Championships on 19th-20th June 2010. This was obviously a severe disappointment to us, and created headaches!
We had therefore to change plans, and now I can say what these are.
The International Casino in Aberdeen will now host the event, on the same dates
Saturday 19th June will see the two day £75 APAT Scottish Amateur Championships held. At present this will be limited to 100 players, though we hope this will be 120 players if the venue can secure sufficient resources to manage this
Sunday 20th June will see the £250 APAT Professional League Series event, with a capacity of 50 runners.
Both events will begin at 3pm, with casino opening at 2.15pm on both days
Sadly the Specialist Series event on the Sunday will be cancelled for Aberdeen.
Satellites and direct buy-in for Aberdeen will take place next week.
Sorry for any inconvenience, but at least we still have an event.
Thanks to all who made the long journey to Aberdeen for this event. Thanks to TightEnd and Pawprint (Richard and Leigh) for there support and faith in us. Thanks to Janice Fraser at Soul Casino for the loan of tables. Well done to TD Neil Munro for his excellent running of the events. Congratulations to our winners and good luck in the GUKPT. It was nice to meet some of the blonde people and be able to put nicknames to faces. I look forward to meeting up with you guys again at another venue later in the year. John

bump The APAT Scottish Amateur Championship is a two day event with a $120 buyin and no registration fee. The winner will receive a significant cash prize along with a trophy and gold medal and the title of Scottish Amateur Champion.
Alongside that, APAT's partner Betfair add a GUKPT main event seat for the winner and the winner will be invited to join all other APAT live and online champions to play a one-off end of season tournament where the winner will receive a £20k sponsorship package with Betfair Poker for 2011.
The tournament has a starting stack of 10k and 45 minute blind levels. This is a deepstack, two day event.

Our World Famous Stovies buffet will be served on Saturday 19th to all the APAT players.
Anyone who posts "Whats Stovies?", sits next to Ironside!
Corned beef or sausages? Your answer could be a deciding factor on whether I travel a very long journey....or not! Our Chef won't tell me the ingredients, though having tasted her Stovies many times I suspect its Corned Beef. Typical responce from a bloke...sigh! Well ask me an easy question next time! Like what are the chances of Ironside hitting one correct note during his entire rendition of please release me?

Delighted to welcome back APAT to its original 'hame' in Aberdeen.

Community Forums / Betting Tips and Sport Discussion / Portsmouth fold, what happens to my bet?
|
on: February 22, 2010, 02:18:48 AM

I had £200 @7/2 on Portsmouth to be relegated back in June. If the High Court rules against the club next Monday and they go out of business is my bet void, or do i get paid? I've spoken to a couple of bookie managers in this city and they don't seem very sure! Naturally i wouldn't want any club to go out of business, whatever the bookmakers decide about my bet.
