1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: What is a semi professional player? on: October 10, 2007, 01:29:00 PM
A professional is someone who is very very very good at something.

For me a professional player is someone whos just very damn good at it and is a long term winning player. You can be a professional player at 0.01/0.02 tables thus not making an income but still being a winning player for example Smiley

A semi-pro would be someone who is largly a winning player but doesnt spend as much time playing poker as he does other things in life. So with priorities in a different order for example.

All blondes are at least semi-pro's in my opinion Smiley taking the game seriously, playing it seriously... and usually good at it Smiley

Neverends.

I have never succeeded in a clickfest, got a confirmation e-mail though, so maybe I'm improving.  Roll Eyes

Does that mean that i'm on the reserve list ?

Not necessarily Sad You need to email Des and ask him I suppose.

There's a way of *looks around* cheating.... You can download applications that fill in forms for you including address and card details. So you just click a button and <insert instant word here>, its done.

truly dreadful poker television.....

In all honesty I've lost interest in most televised tournaments. The WPT is fun to watch just because of the environment, but so many are just rubbish publicity stunts these days.... Not really of any interest and due to ridiculous structures, there is no truth in the game....

Would much rather go to a casino and sit in a cash game then watch poker on tv! heh

Its quite possible in the big hands that Ivey was playing, the croc guy did annoy him, but it doesnt mean he has a full out problem with him I suppose!

Still a very funny game!

11  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Can anyone recommend vegas flights for next year? on: September 04, 2007, 10:30:02 AM
I live in Leeds but in all honesty Tikay, I'd fly from anywhere. One suitcase.. trains aren't a major problem. Plus I know people in Manchester, and people in London so that's fine.

£700 would be the ultimate max I'd spend on flights... i'll pencil that in as top of the range Tongue Any other tips? :p
12  Poker Forums / The Rail / Can anyone recommend vegas flights for next year? on: September 04, 2007, 09:58:00 AM
EDIT: I've seen the other vegas thread as well and looking into those options. If anyone has anything more specific for my thread, then great.

2 posts in 2 minutes. I'm really that bored at work.

Anyway for my 21st birthday, I shall be flying off to Vegas. My 21st is on August 24th. Ideally I'd like to fly on the 25th or 26th and fly back 14 days later. Direct not a problem...

Can anyone recommend or try and find me the cheapest flights as possible yet the most valuable and comfy ones? I mean £1000 is a LOT of money to me so way too much ya see....

Also someone advised me to stay in the Bellagio. Apparently $200 a night for a suite there which isn't bad at all! Has anyone got any recommendations for that too? I'd be planning to book ASAP really.

Cheers guys! I'm sure you'll be much more experience in this than me Wink I would be happy booking flights now and booking hotel about 6 weeks before if much cheaper.
13  Poker Forums / The Rail / Poker Tube - WOW! on: September 04, 2007, 09:54:35 AM
Well I spend most days at work just waiting for things to break. But until they do, I have nothing to do. Until discovering poker tube!

Does anyone else watch a lot on it?? Just been watching the Aussie Millions High Stakes Cash Game.. absolutely amazing stuff!!!!

Also one to watch, Hellmuth's 2 part interview. He's so hypcrotical though. Makes my blood boil rofl
14  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Was this a loose call? on: September 03, 2007, 05:15:02 PM
Depends on the player I suppose. For a tight person to go all in on a Q626 board, you can guarentee that an overpair isn't going to be enough.. but if he's been active in a lot of pots, then its not a loose call at all with the pot size the way it was.

Of course he couldn't have been tight to simply limp on the flop. Very very bad call by him! But I guess that's what we should love right?
