Quick question for you.

Anyone recognize this chap?

Tom sent me the 'photo (hope I'm not stealing his thunder), it was taken by him at Goliath yesterday.

I used to be very close to this chap & some of you will remember him, as his star shone brightly for a while, although that was a long time ago.

Name that man...

Clue - originally, he was a Gala Notts regular, & I know a few of you used to frequent that place.

PS - Tom is disqualified from answering.

PPS - I never even recognized the chap until Tom told me his name, & yet we were THAT close & I have much to be grateful to him for.

Colchester Kev?

And congrats to Julian's young'un, Julian one of the nicest people in poker for sure.

@Keith, if you fancy Sunderland to be competitive this season and want some friendly action on heads-up handicap points evens bets vs other teams, shoot some lines over and I'll probably bite on a few Smiley

Hi Raymond, happy to take Sunderland against any (or all) of West Ham, Brentford, Forest, Burnley, Fulham or Bournmouth. Use Spreadex season points midpoint to determine handicap.

Sent you a PM Keith

Pretty much anyone could fluke a hole in one, potentially although highly unlikely you could fluke a 9 darter with a little bit of skill, whereas nobody is ever fluking a 147. Thus 147 is clearly the hardest and its not even close for me.

Thanks so much everyone for the support!

Considering this thread was created several years ago when I had my first decent ept run in the “last ever” EPT, they’ve turned out alright for me now 😄

Kind of got dealt out HU but the key hand was the KQ hand where he found a nice bluff and I wasn’t able to find an equally nice call, based on that I think he deserved to win it… It’s really not bothering me though - amazing result for me and my family that I’ve always dreamed of but thought would probably never happen. Getting home today to my family and seeing my wife and daughter having achieved financial security for the 3 of us and seeing my little girl face crawling up to me was genuinely the best moment of my life. Soft aren’t I?!

Hopefully this isn’t the final post in this thread!

Amazing mate, big congrats, enjoy it.

From more recent shows this is excellent on Apple - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11280740/

Quite a few good shows on there, Defending Jacob is also a very good watch, Slow Horses is good, and The New Look just started and very interesting so far.

My advice would be you don't need to be so rigid on the decision, I understand what you mean re going all-in on the next thing, and for sure that seems smart, but say in 6 months you really miss playing and want to go back, then go back. It would be silly not to just because you made this decision now thinking it was best for you. Even though I'm still involved with Poker I don't miss playing at all, and would be shocked if I ever went back to grinding, but who knows, time will tell. I'm sure you have a ton of different options, which is a pretty great spot to start from, so best of luck with the next step Alex.

Regards AI btw, any advice on where to start for someone who's a complete noob? Agree it's going to massively change the world, been thinking about the opportunities there must be in the space, and any input would be great.

Hey ray, thanks for the advice (and others too).

RE AI, probably have to learn to code, at least the basics to get you started. I’d suggest python. Take a course on udemy.com ChatGPT will write anything for you but you gotta know the basics to put it all together. Then take a course on AI.

Nice one, cheers.
