Orenstein is successful outside of his poker playing, both in poker and other pursuits. A Holocaust survivor who spent much of the end of World War II in various concentration camps, Orenstein became a toymaker who, decades later, convinced Hasbro to start producing Transformers. He holds over 100 other patents, and aside from Transformers, the best-known of these inventions is U.S. Patent 5,451,054 which gave Orenstein the exclusive right in the United States to detect and display hole cards in poker games. The ability to show a player's hidden cards to an audience is one of the principal reasons that poker is so popular today.

I say this having just seen a very professional, arty and pretty decent advert for full tilt after the football on sky sports. I've seen adverts for poker TV shows and the like, and general online casinos/betting sites on things like football shirts and billboards, but this is the first time I've seen poker exclusively pushed in such a mainstream way.

Have I just been blind?

I had a few of these last night on sky. I've got myself a nice new laptop which I'm still familiarising myself with. Playing a few hands from the comfort of the sofa... and my fingers trigger the bloody "go back a page" function on the touchpad leaving me in an annoying limbo!

Didn't beat $200, but alerted me to the fact I really shouldn't be playing this way!
