There is always point to the thread - people have answered you.

I'm on the fence - probably as I never decide 100% what to do until it is in front of me. If I don't know what I am going to do then how can anyone else read me lol.

I would probably have played the hand, but what I would do is not necessarily what I would recommend to do. After all I don't win everything so something is wrong.

All I really know is that the more I play the more I realise that I probably shouldn't play until I have a stupid amount of money to ride all the bad beats.

For some reason I still keep playing, oh well just another case of not following my own advice hehe.

A quick word of warning on these, people are getting quite clever by registering web addresses that are very similar to e-bay / paypal and you could miss this at a glance. They also copy all of the graphics etc to get you to log into "your account" on what looks just like your correct login screen, thus giving them your login and password.

What you did was perfect, go direct and do not follow the links. This way you know you have gone to the correct site. Watch this for any sites where you use any sort of direct financial transaction as they are all open to this type of fraud.

Hi Dave

One other option is if your laptop has either a TV-out or a SVHS output you can use either of these to run a second screen. If the screen does not support it then you will need a VGA box to convert the output to VGA or HDMI whichever you need.

I used to use my laptop running with three screens, its own, a monitor and a projector, worked fine with all memory etc as it was designed to output to all three devices. With a USB adapter then it is using a third party item which can cause some difficulties, generally not insurmountable though.

Hope this helps a little.

Trust your gut and if it feels right chuck it all in, if not run away.

Game of luck? Perhaps - some people just seem to be born with luck and the rest of us have to work at it.

I have a mate who just can't win with AA, he doesn't play often as he's generally skint but hey he likes to have a go every now and then.

First time he hits in one of my tourneys he slow plays, hits    on the flop, the player to his right makes a reasonable raise so he throws his chips in only to find he's playing  . Doesn't hit anything and out he goes.

Asking what he did wrong we suggested that maybe if he had gone all in the guy would have folded.

Anyway, next time he hits AA he immediately goes all in and gets called by  , yes you guessed it - a  hits and out he goes again.

Third time he plays half his chips and gets called by an open ended straight draw which of course hits leaving him well confused and not knowing if he should ever play AA again.

What do I tell him?

Surely with this you will have to play the hand based on how you read the player?

When all is said and done you do not have the nuts, just close, and how many times do you need to hear - always look at what could beat you not what you have.

A house is a fine hand, just remember that it is beatable.

That said mind you can't fold everything all the time because it might be beat or you'll actually turn into a rock lol
